Cannes Film Festival is now under way and cult Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike recently saw his 100th movie Blade Of The Immortal launch at the festival and today we can look at the movies English language trailer. The name of this movie's title may be very familiar to some especially Manga/Anime fans as it's based on Hiroaki Samura's Manga. At this stage, we don't know how much accurate it will be, but from what we've read it's a good one!
Manji, a highly skilled samurai, becomes cursed with immortality after a legendary battle. Haunted by the brutal murder of his sister, Manji knows that only fighting evil will regain his soul. He promises to help a young girl named Rin avenge her parents, who were killed by a group of master swordsmen led by ruthless warrior Anotsu. The mission will change Manji in ways he could never imagine - the 100th film by master director Takashi Miike.
Blade Of The Immortal stars Hana Sugisaki, Ebizô Ichikawa, Sôta Fukushi, Hayato Ichihara, Erika Toda, Kazuki Kitamura, Min Tanaka, Takuya Kimura and Tsutomu Yamazaki. There is no word if or when this will be released in UK&Ireland however with it's Manga/Anime connections and the popularity of Miike we expect this one to be released later this year.
