Watch First Trailer For Lynne Shelton's Touchy Feely

No comments:
The queen of mumblecore Lynn Shelton returns with her latest dramedy Touchy Feely starring Rosemarie Dewitt as Abby a free spirited massage therapist who develops an aversion to human touch. This is not good for business for Abby not just professionally but also personally and her relationship with her boyfriend (Scoot McNairy).

The film made its debut at Sundance and Sundance London festivals this year, it's a film that sneaked onto cinephiles radar. Its probably Shelton's best ensemble unfortunately for those people who caught this film that cast seems to be the films strongest feature. Touchy Feely certainly looks a ambitious film and if your like us fans of Your Sister's Sister this film should still bring you  satisfaction and escapism for those film fans who want something different from the usual array of big Hollywood blockbusters that dominate the cinemas at this time of the year.

We don't actually have an UK&Irish release date yet but Touchly Feely is due a 6th September USA release date. The film also stars Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Josh Pais,Ron Livingston and Tomo Nakayama.

Synopsis

TOUCHY FEELY is a closely observed examination of a family whose delicate psychic balance suddenly unravels. Abby (Rosemarie DeWitt), is a sought after massage therapist and a free spirit, while her brother Paul (Josh Pais) thrives on routine and convention, running a flagging dental practice and co-dependently enlisting the assistance of his emotionally stunted daughter Jenny (Ellen Page). Suddenly, transformation touches everyone. Abby develops an uncontrollable aversion to bodily contact, which not only makes her occupation impossible but severely hinders the passionate love life between her and her boyfriend (Scoot McNairy).

Monsters: Dark Continent Starts Principal Photography

No comments:
Vertigo Films have announced the  principal photography of their forthcoming movie Monsters: Dark Continent has officially started.

Monsters: Dark Continent will be the feature debut of Tom Green who has previously directed the E4 cult hit Misfits with the script written by Jay Basu. The film is a coproduction between Vertigo Films and 42.

The movie is a continuation to Gareth Edwards 2010 international hit Monsters that starred Scoot McNairy. Edwards was nominated for a BAFTA and the film has won four British Independent Film Awards along with many international accolades.

It is some years after the events of MONSTERS. There are Infected Zones all over the world. US military forces are fighting Monsters, attempting to wipe them out. They are met with resistance but it’s not just from the Monsters. The cast includes Johnny Harris (London To Brighton, Welcome To The Punch) Sam Keeley (What Richard Did) and Joe Dempsie (Game Of Thrones) with Edwards and McNairy returning as exec producers.

Producer Allan Niblo for Vertigo comments, “Monsters: Dark Continent is a sci-fi action film that remains true to the artistry and intelligence of its prequel Monsters as well as providing the excitement, thrills and set pieces of a genre film. We’re very excited to see Tom Greens vision unfold”.

Producer James Richardson adds "We are delighted to be working with this incredible new team - Ben and Rory are two very talented producers, Jay has written an excellent script, we have a brilliant cast and Tom is one of the most exciting new directors coming out of the UK."

Ben Pugh, co producing states, “Gareth Edwards created a rich and evocative sci-fi world with Monsters and it's a privilege to go deeper into that world for Monsters: Dark Continent with Tom Green, Vertigo and a very exciting cast".

Filming will take place in Jordan for five weeks and a week in Detroit. Vertigo Distribution will release in the UK with Protagonist handling international.

New Trailer for A Night in the Woods

No comments:

For those who enjoy a slice of paranoia horror, Vertigo films (that's the folks that brought us 2010’s epic handheld creature feature: Monsters) have just released a creepy new trailer for their upcoming flick ANight in the Woods. The film looks to set to be the British Blair Witch: a creepy legend in an isolated wilderness, a triad of people keeping secrets from each other, and a lot of screaming in the dark. Hopefully this minimalist piece will pack the same punch Monsters did, working with a smaller more intimate number of characters and revealing little of the threat.  But there’s always the risk that the hand-held sub-genre will overload itself with too many like-minded works, and burn out its appeal. Still, A Night in the Woods promises scares aplenty and hopefully a stand-out addition to the collection.

A Night In The Woods will be released in UK cinemas September 7th.

Watch the trailer here:

On what is intended to be a fun camping trip to investigate and to chill in the atmosphere of the legendary haunted past of Dartmoor’s Wistman’s Woods, Brody, his girlfriend Kerry and her cousin Leo very soon find themselves mysteriously ill at ease both with their surroundings and their companions. Bad moods and minor disagreements rapidly lead to feelings of severe paranoia, sexual tension, fear and, eventually, violence between the three friends, a situation that worsens as the evening draws in. At first, they suspect the conflicts are simply the result of being thrown together in the ancient, eerie surroundings, but as night closes upon them each begins to wonder if darker forces are at work.
