First time I noticed the title of this movie I was expecting it was a Chinese remake of the Adam Green movie of the same which comes out in uk on October 1st, but this is completely different.
Derek Kwok's Frozen or Wai Nei Chung Ching is about a woman Cyronically frozen in 1989 to waken up 20 years later to find out her then newborn is older than her! We've seen many movies likes of Freaky Friday where kids swap bodies with children, but I cant recall a movie like this where the kid is now older than the parent though has been the odd time travelling classic movie such as Back To The Future where Marty meets his mum.
The movie does sound very interesting and does have the charm you expect from a chinese/hong kong movie intwined with some fantasy, I didnt expect to see those big hairstyles again (I was 14 in 1989 remember them well!!!)
Frozen is out in Hong Kong on September 2nd, trailer after the break....

Trailer For Polish Arthouse Crime Thiller CHRZEST (The Christening)
source Twitch
This movie is soon to make its international premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival CHRZEST (The Christening) by Marcin Wrona.
Due to the artish style to this movie will make sure this movie will pick up a few accolades along the road when it does its rounds of the film festivals and I agree with this source of this trailer it does have a mixture of the movies Brothers mixed with History of violence. The whole movie looks to have click well together the cinematography, the intergation of the scenes into action into drama, so if your looking for a slighty different spin on the crime thriller movie, this could be the one to check out.

Micahel Madsen is a Wall Street Trader in KRACH
source QuietEarth
There was a time when Michael Madsen would pop up virtually every big hollywood movie on the planet then suddenly he would dissappear of the face of the earth. Then a cult type movie would come out there he is again then vavoom, no where to be seen until now is in a French movie by Fabrice Genestal, KRACH.
With the world's economy in such a bad state it would be only a matter of time old school Wall Street trading movies from 1980's would be back on our screens, okay we Know Wall Street 2 by Olivier Stone is heading our way in October but the French look likely to beat him with this movie with Gilles Lellouche a Wall Street trader fired by his boss (Madsen) for loosing $millions and he decides to against Madsen.
Will this be any good? hard to tell maybe in Native France but as outside French speaking world probably not though Madsen does look like a real badass in this! Trailer after the break...

Low Budget Killer in Norway's DARK SOULS
source Twitch
Online, in magazines we get to see what mainstream movies have to offer or at least think they have to offer, one thing at my blog I like to cover trailers for movies from many continents & countires including Scandinavia. I do my best to try cover all levels of film making but I will say alot of low budget flicks dont seem to get alot of airtime and Scandinavians do have there fare share of low budget movies including this one DARK SOULS( Mørke sjeler).
Alot of low budget movies get made of all genres and they get dished out ten a penny majority just plain crap unwatchable but there's always the odd one that stands out worthy of mention and Mathieu Peteul and César Ducasse's Dark Souls is one of them.
The movie is doing the tour of the film festivals worldwide picking up a few awards on its tour and from the trailer below you can see the movie is very gritty and is not scared of throwning in a bit of brutality. Black and Decker should get this as a promo ad for their drills as there plenty on view but are the victims are they zombies? I dont think so a little bit like the critters from that dodgy 1980's flick with Patrik Stewart Lifeforce crossed with the affect from 28 Days Later, mmm? Trailer after the break...

Today's victim will killed by ....THE SATURDAY KILLER!!!
sourceTwitch
Thailand is famous alot of things Great sunshine, great food, and ehh ladyboys but they are good at mashups of various genres and there's one director who is the master at it and thats Yuthlert Sippapak.
It was the name of this movie intrigued me SATURDAY KILLER and how Sippapak's doing back to back sequels (i:e Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,etc....) matching comedians with beautiful young starlets. Each movie had a slight variation and oddly the movies werent released in order of the days there killer was based on either?!
As i what the actual story is all about, your guess is good as mines, I wonder if this is a funnier version of Smokin' Aces?

2 New Clips From Sylvian Chomet's THE ILLUSIONIST
Tomorrow in UK & Ireland sees the release of Sylvain Chomet’s The Illusionist a beautifully drawn animation set inEdinburgh and various beautiful spots around Scotland. The story centre’s around a old style stage magican in the 1950′s whose one of a dying breed of entertainers with the emergance of rock stars stealing his thunder and life is now work coming in the most obscure places. As things seem to be getting bad there’s one little girl, Alice who changes his life forever.
This movie will delight children and adults who love the tradition 2d form of animation which is completely different from the norm of the Walt Disney style but still has that enchanting element from the old disney flick. This is a qaulity film from a qaulity animator in the form of Slyvain Chomet who won 2 oscars in 2003 with his previous movie Belleville Rendez-Vous, so if you enjoyed that animation you’ll love this and if you love the legendary Jacques Tati (whose story this is based on) you really enjoy this.
The movie is on national release in UK & Ireland from tomorrow and Christmas day (25th December) in USA. Check out these two clips from the movie one called ‘Lady Singer’ showning the illusionist trying to win over the crowd and the second called Exercise showning our movies protaganist trying to get himself into a exercise regime! Teaser Trailer For Live Action Version of Ashita No Joe
source NIPPONCINEMA
When your going to bring a classic story as in classic Manga/Anime to the big screen its good to pick a classic sometime and Fumhiko Sori has done that with Tetsuya Chiba & Asao Takamori’s classic boxing manga Ashita no Joe (Tomorrow’s Joe).
With the poser of the internet I have been able to watch some of the classic anime's online as I am a massive fan of old school retro Japanese animation. Dont get me wrong I do love current anime but there just an essence piece of magic connected with classic animation that you just cant put words to but you know you love it.
The story focuses on the story of Joe Yabuki a troubled young man and he meets Dampei Tange who teaches Joe the art of boxing. During a stint in prison Joe meets a boxing prodigy Toru Rikiishi whom a respectful but fierce rivalary develops and their battles inspire other inmates to take up boxing resulting in various battles of whom are all of different skill levels and weakness.
The movie stars Tomohisa Yamashita (joe), Teruyuki Kagawa (Dampei) and Yûsuke Iseya (Toru) with Toho releasing the movie in Japan and the movie set to be released in Japan in Febraury 2011.
Check the teaser trailer after the break...
