ANIMERAMA: 1001 NIGHTS / CLEOPATRA

In the late 60s and early 70s the world's most famous manga artist OSAMU TEZUKA, nicknamed "The Godfather of Manga" and creator of ASTRO BOY and BLACK JACK, made a series of adult-oriented anime called ANIMERAMA which pushed the boundaries of anime.
Third Window Films are pleased to be able to finally present the first two films of the Animerama series together in one release for the first time on bluray and remastered DVD.
Release date: JUNE 18, 2018 - Bluray & DVD

Cor blimey. This film has more great tits in it than a convention of 'Page Three stunnas.' More great tits than the weekly meeting of the ornithological clubs of Upper and Lower Riding combined. More great tits than...

Well, those are the only two things I can think of that might have a proliferation of great tits in them. That doesn't change the fact that this semi-pornographic animated Japanese comedy film has the most tits in it I've ever seen anywhere, and I've been to... Well, never mind where I've been. Just believe me when I tell you about the tits. There are bazillions of 'em in this.

They're all marvellous tits too, bouncy and upright and when their owners lie down the tits don't disappear under their armpits, they stay firm and perky and staring resolutely up at the ceiling. Not like real boobs, lol, which would normally require scaffolding to achieve that same effect.

I nearly had a fit when the movie started and there was a spaceship. Another animé set in Outer Bloody Space? Snooze...! I've kind of seen my fill of animé films that just feature one load of spaceships shooting at another load of spaceships. Pew pew! Pew pew! Pew pew! Roll the credits. Thanks but no thanks, lol. Gimme a nice human story any day of the week. In particular, I do like a nice romance.

Luckily, the film was only book-ended by two teensy-weensy Outer Space bits. In the far future, a bunch of humans find out that the inhabitants of a hostile planet are planning to take over the Earth by means of a cunning strategy known as 'The Cleopatra Plan.'

Incidentally, that's what I'd have called the movie, 'The Cleopatra Plan,' if only to distinguish it from other films of the same name. To avoid confusion and give it a bit of stand-outability. Although the tits do more than enough standing out for all of us, lol.

Anyway, do the threatened humans infiltrate the hostile planet with members of their own species and try to secretly ferret out the meaning of 'The Cleopatra Plan?' They bally well do not. Do they march right up to these alien creatures and demand to know the dastardly details outright, under pain of, well, something jolly painful indeed?

Nope. They don't do that either. They have a much cunning-er plan (yes thanks, I'm aware that's not a proper word. I apparently make up words now.). Three of these humans are chosen to travel back in time (yes, they have time travel now) to the era of Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. They'll assume the identities of members of Cleopatra's court and that way try to figure out what the deal is with this 'plan' they've been hearing about.

Whatever about the 'plan,' the three time travellers arrive at the ancient court of Cleopatra just in time to find the most feted beauty in all of Egypt having mad passionate sex first with Julius Caesar, supposedly a celebrated lover, and then Marc Antony, another famous Roman Empire type from, well, the Roman Empire days.

Both men had wives- Caesar Calpurnia, and Marc Antony Fulvia- but that didn't stop them from having raging affairs with our Cleo. The wives can't have been exactly thrilled about their husband's extra-curricular activities.

In fact, a naked Calpurnia confronts an equally naked Cleopatra in the film shortly after
Cleo's had Caesar's baby (he's green like Caesar, so there's no doubt as to his paternity...) and, sadly for Cleo, comes out on top.

Caesar won't leave his wife for Cleopatra but he doesn't mind continuing to keep her as a nice sexy bit on the side. For shame, Caesar, you Ancient Roman sleazebag. Yo' ass better be paying yo' baby-momma some damn-ass child support.

All the women in the film are topless. Even the auld ones, like Cleopatra's scheming Nanny Apollodoria, have their big bouncy tits out for the lads. Cleopatra can't seem to keep her knickers on either, never mind her bra. From the moment she crawls stark-naked out of that sack into Caesar's exalted- and uber-horny- presence, we don't see her fully dressed ever again, the randy sex-mad hussy.

Cleopatra has exhaustive sex with both Caesar and Marc Antony in the film. There's plenty of female nudity although you don't see either willies or wee-wees. Instead, there's a ton of really saucy, clever sex metaphors and sex imagery to complement the act of love. And then of course there's an endless supply of tits to freely ogle, as I believe I may have mentioned before. (Did I? Did I mention that there are loads of tits in this film?)

It's such a cheeky film. A woman being tortured is threatened with gang-rape if she doesn't confess to whatever it is they want her to confess to. I can't remember what it was, I was too agog to see if they carried out their threat. She's naked and tied down to these stakes on the floor while a long queue of loin-clothed and sexually excited men line up to take their turn with her.

'They won't tear me,' the woman declares defiantly as she waits. Methinks she's never been gang-banged before, lol, the wee innocent. At the last minute, she gets a reprieve but they totally went there. The film, I mean. Still, it was 1970, before all of us little women had rights and stuff, so I guess that that kind of thing was okay back then...?

The film was a commercial failure, but I think it's quite funny and clever with tons of sight gags, such as the folks of Ancient Egypt using fridges and hairdryers and stuff. And the array of fabulous undressed tits on display totally take your mind off any plotholes.

So, do the three future-humans ever find out what 'The Cleopatra Plan' entails and thereby save the Earth from invasion and destruction? Well, I don't know. Don't ask me. I was only watching this for the sex...!
