It was the movie name that caught my attention LIKE THE MOON ESCAPING FROM THE CLOUDS by Korean director Jun-IK Lee. The movie is an martial arts drama and when you do see the poster as well as the trailer you will automatically will think of Zaitochi as the main protaganist in the movie is a blindman with a sword. There will be some inspiration from the Japanese story but according this trailers source the inspiration comes from a Korean Manwha a type of Korean comicstrip/manga.
Martial arts movies do have a international appeal and Jun Ik Lee wants to get more recognition for his work outside Asia and with this he has a good chance of soing so. He has already had a financial success with Wang-ui namja (The King And The Clown) now he wants worldwide recognition.

Disappearance of Alice Creed UK Trailer & Clip

No comments:

source TwitchFilm

With the release of Clash Of The Titans only a few weeks away where we'll see Gemma Arterton in action but a few weeks later on April 30th Gemma will be appearance in a lesser known movie called The Dissappearance Of Alice Creed.
The movies sees Arterton as Alice a daughter of an millionaire who is kidnapped and held to ransom by 2 men played by the excellent Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, Heartless) and Martin Compston (Sweet Sixteen, Damn United). At first Alice is terrified of her captor ex-cons Vic & Danny but realisation kicks in and she knows she has to fightback in order to survive.
This little UK indie thriller is full of  more twists and turns than the Amalfi Drive in Italy but what we do like about this movie is Eddie Marsan playing a sadistic evil vilian. The Disappearance of Alice Creed will be out in UK & Ireland on April 30th  and check out the UK trailer and a clip below...

Official site

Offical synopsis:  Two men - one in his twenties, the other nearer forty, both intensely focused on the task at hand - line the inside of a transit van with plastic. Shopping, they buy a drill, a mattress and other supplies. In a small flat they assemble a bed for the mattress and staple foam insulation and board to the walls and windows of a bedroom. Then, their meticulous preparations complete, they kidnap a young woman. They drag her from the street into the back of the van and, with a bag over her head and ball gag in her mouth, take her back to the flat, tying her to the bed in the room they have converted into a prison cell.

The kidnappers are Danny (Martin Compston) and Vic (Eddie Marsan), two ex-cons planning to make a mint on the ransom for the young woman. The younger, nervier of the two, Danny defers to the more experienced Vic, who acts with a steely conviction. Their hostage is Alice Creed (Gemma Arterton), daughter of a rich businessman, chosen by Vic and Danny as their passport to a better life. Terrified and immobile at first, it soon becomes clear that Alice isn't about to let her captors use her as capital without a fight. As determined to escape as Vic and Danny are to succeed, Alice enters into a battle of wills which strains the already fractious relationship between the two men. As the deadline for the exchange draws nearer, all three are brought close to breaking point, with Vic and Danny's foolproof plan descending into a desperate struggle for survival.

A taut, emotionally intense thriller, the debut feature from writer-director J Blakeson eschews genre convention, generating tension from the sexual and psychological ties that bind captive to captors. Produced by Adrian Sturges (The Escapist), the film stars Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia), Eddie Marsan (Happy Go Lucky, Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Compston (Sweet Sixteen, Red Road).

THE POSSESSION OF DAVID O'REILLY Trailer

No comments:
source TrailerAddict
Away back in November just after the release of Paranormal Activity in UK it was expected to be the usual barrelload of rip-off movies  but there wasn't. However a short teaser trailer for what has now been regarded as the British answer to Paranormal Activity it's  The Possession of David O'Reilly.
I didnt take much notice of the teaser away back in the winter simply because it was only 30 seconds long and nothing really happened until the last 3 or 4 seconds but we have a full on trailer which you can watch below.
The movie is of lower budget but dont let that put you off this movie as it does look like it has been put together very well, and it does deliver by just feeding us with little snippets of scary moments. Looking at it's imdb page it doesnt give much of a synopsis apart from a

a terrifying supernatural shockumentary about a demonic presence in a young couple's home in London

Looking at the trailer which is creepy, jumpy and alot of WTF Was that moments that do keep you gripped to the story suggesting there's a lot more that meets the eye here. What I do like is that we do get glimpses of the demons that attack the victims rather than invisable demonic forces which can only scare you so much onscreen

The movie is in post production and was directed by Andrew Cull  as for who's in it it stars Giles Anderson (Damn United, Colin Todd) and a cast of unknown actors/actress but Paranormal didnt have known stars in it and look what happend to that!!!

The movie is in post production, as for when its released there's no date yet or even if its a cinema or dvd release.

Freddy Krueger aka Ribert Englund got a bit of a Mole Problem

There's loads low budget movies out there some disguise themselves as comedies and just crap to put it mildly but you do get the ocasional cracker that is actually funny and I think we can say THE MOLEMAN OF BELMOUNT MOVIE is one those that falls into the category of a small budget funny movie.
It might be a small budget but it has a big name is horror movies, the original Freddy Kreuger aka the iconic Robert Englund in its cast!!! Reading the source post the movies cast and crew have come from the comedy scene in Chicago so comedy parts should come naturally to them, so whats it all about?

Marion and Jarmon Mugg have never had to work very hard.  They’ve never had much responsibility, and no one has ever put any expectations on them to perform or achieve, well… anything.
But two years ago their mother died, leaving them the brownstone apartment building that has been in the family since its days as a speakeasy during Prohibition.  In that short time, their slacker ways have run the building into the ground.  The tenants are moving out, no one but them and their friends drinks at the bar on the ground floor, and the building’s pets are going missing.  If all that isn’t enough to make them sit up and take notice, there’s also a good chance that a monster is living in the basement.
“The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue” is a horror/ comedy that explores what happens when a terrible situation is dropped into the laps of the two people least equipped to deal with it.  The Brothers Mugg can either step up to the plate and finally grow up, or they can wait and clean up the mess as a mysterious creature eats every living thing in the building, one by one. - Offical website Synopsis

source QuietEarth
If you follow my mainstream movie blog The Peoples Movies I posted a trailer for THE TROTSKY, a comedy drama starring Jay Baruchel  as a college student Leon who believes he is the reincarnation of Russian idioligist Leon Trotsky and after having a hunger strike at his father's Papa Clothing Factory. As punishment Leon is sent to the public school and brings a whole new meaning to the student union and his opportunity to live out his destiny and change the world.
When I posted the first trailer the movie dodnt have a distributor and was basically doing the rounds at 2009 film festivals and was getting decent reviews. Alliance Films have picked up the rights and the movie is due to be released in Canada on May 14 but there's no UK or Irish release but theres a good chance of a limited release  possibly late this year.
