With on off fiasco with Terry Gilliam's proposed version of Don Quixote it's seems filmmaker Ah Gan has got there before him. This isnt a full on adaptation but a fantasy adaption of the classic Spanish book but based on the legendary Chang'an dynasty warrior.
I am really interested in seeing this but only in 2D NOT 3d (if you follow my Peoples Movies blog Im not a fan of 3D movies) The movie stars Gao Tuo, Karena Lam, Liu Ye and Wang Gang with no offical release date yet confirmed yet.

Yes your eyes aren't deceiving you folks this post is for a Japanese remake of Ghost, that movie that starred Patrick Swayeze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. So you may WTF! Well Paramount Picures a while back did an deal with the asian market for a few of there movies to be remade for asian market and you may why?! Ive heard that attitude by a few people before whilst many filmamker remake foreign based movies into English language (most are not very good) so whynot?
Gosuto: Mo Ichido Dakishimetai is a Japanese version of the classic weepie with Seung-heon Song & Nanako Matsushima reprising the roles the difference in this version is that the character who dies is reversed the female character(Matsushima)  Kirin Kiki will play the role which Goldberg played.

So what do you think? teaser is after the break....

“Ghost: Mo Ichido Daishimetai” will be released in Japan on November 13, 2010.

Trailer for John Woo's REIGN OF ASSASSINS

Since John Woo decided to move back into the Hong Kong/Chinese movie market I feel a sense of confidence, happiness, a man back on form. Woo'smovie seem to have moved back up to the top where they belong and he is a fine example that Hollywood isn't the dreammaker many filmakers & actors see Hollywood as. Its dogeatdog world and if you hack it on the first attempt and keep the momentum going dreams turn to knightmares.
Bought Red Cliff last week on DVD and if you give me anything set in China when chivlary is in order with John Woo behind the lens Im sold! Here is the first trailer for REIGN OF ASSISSANS which Woo co-directs and produce, proper old school here! The movie is currently in pos-tproduction but what we do know is that Weinstein Company have the American rights so we can expect a release in UK too! Yesss!!!

Movie stars Michelle Yeoh, Woo-sung Jung, Barbie Hsu, Kelly Lin and Shawn Yue, trailer after the break...

TIFF 2010: Trailer For Kat Dennings in DAYDREAM NATION

DAYDREAM NATION could be one of the movie you may want to check out if your heading to next month’s Toronto film festival where it’ll make its premiere. The movie is written & directed by Michael Goldblach starring Kat Dennings, Josh Lucas, Reece Thompson, Andie MacDowell and Natasha Calis.

The movie is about a teenage girl (Dennings) moves to a rural town (currently been plagued by a serial killer) where she has an affair with a teacher (Lucas).I dont if the killer is just a spin off/ background story or the affair will get entangled into the killers path who knows interesting twist.

Apart from the movie going to be at TIFF 2010 there is no word yet as and when this flick will be released apart from it been 2011. I wonder if this will be one of those flicks that does the rounds of the festival, you then completely forget about and bang it appears a year or two later, mm? trailer after break...

Comicbook artists in the west in general may not have celebity status such as a movie star, a few are well known and may get close to celeb status with hollywood current liking to all things comicbook, But in Japan comicbook artist or Manga artists actually do have celeb status like many movie stars and below is a trailer of an expample of that status.
Gegege no Nyobo is an autobiographical look at Shigeru Mizuki the creator of 'Gegege no Nyobo' wife Nunoe. The movie is an adaptation of the television series of the same name which is running on japanese national television at this moment and the movie does also follow the years Mizuki toiled in becoming a famous artist and the hardship both had to go through as well.

TIFF 2010: Trailer For THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS

Below is the trailer for Anurag Kashyap’s latestmovie THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS.Im sure many non-indian movies fans when you think of India you'll automatically think this is a Bollywood movie and will be full of big majestic song & dance number, think again.
This movie is an thriller about a young girl who searches  for her father but then finds herself working in a massage parlour. This is not your average Indian movie and Kashyap is not scared to delve into controversy with diving deep into the dark underbelly of Indian society and I'm sure this will have a few of India's version's of Mary Whitehouse standing on their high moral grounds wanting this movie scrapped.
Well if there is a ruckus in Indian media the international media are more curious that movie is to play this years Toronto Film Festival and Venice Film festival too!
The trailer is a slow burner but then picks up some momentum, trailer after the break....
