The past few days in mainstream cinema its been all about RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, forget about that, the true apocalypse of the monkeys, the rise of the apes comes in the form of Spanish short Die Schneider Krankheit (schneider Disease). Javier Chillon's short tells the story of an epidemic that breaks out after an monkey who went to space part of a Russian space programme returns and spreads the virus in 1950's. Great mix of newsreel, visuals, cold war paranoia, nice story.
