Noel Clarke in Sci-Fi Noir short REIGN OF DEATH
source LiveForFilm
Having a search through the mysterious world called the world wide web to bring you some goodies for you to enjoy and came across this little cracker of a movie short starring "I'm in everything British made " Noel Clarke.
The short movie is called REIGN OF DEATH and was created by Matthew Savage it's a CGI short movie similar in style as 300, Sin City. When you watch the trailer it's like a fallback to the old film noir mixed up with fritz lang inspired sci-fi...pulp science fiction! It's a simple story of a 1930s vision of the future and gumshoe chases down a robotic murder suspect, the movie came out last year but cinehouse wasn't around when this came out, so enjoy!

Trailer For ECILA, Alice aint in wonderland just grindhouse Noir!
source QuietEarth
After easter pathetic Tim Burton Alice In blunderland movie I went off Alice as well as Tim Burton movies, theres always a new adaptation of the movie happening somewhere nothing original about it. However if you where approached with a version which goes in a direction you would never think of what would you do? Check it out!!!
Ecila is that adaptation which takes the main elements of Alice pushes the story into modern times, throws in some grindhouse fantasy film noir and we get one fine piece of indie film making!
Ecila will be premiered at Haiwaiian Film Festival in October, you can check Ecila's theatrical trailer below.....

Mexican sci-fi noir weirdness, trailer for LA PANTERA NEGRA
source QuietEarth
When you think of film noir, you automatically think 1940's cinema, black&white, pulp fiction some well dressed beautiful woman smoking throw in a bit a bit weirdness as well. Well LA PANTERA NEGRA has all that plus some flying saucers, science fiction pulp thrown in to make it one hell of a weird movie, but do you know what? we do love what we see here.
Shame is i'll probably not end up getting a chance to see it as 'i'm only a blogger nothing more' as a snobbish head up his backside reporter told me at Glasgow Film Festival.
enjoy trailer after the break...

Trailer for Australian Noir THE SQUARE
Source TwitchFilm
Australian Cinema has always had a decent reception in UK over the past decade or two. If you switch on UK television you'll find 1 in 3 soaps are Australian and more recently on Scottish television we've had Underbelly a violentish crime drama. But when it comes to America it's not as great though that could change with THE SQUARE.
The Square is an stylish crime drama about Raymond a man tangled up in a love affair with Carla, a beautiful but troubled woman. She tests Raymond's moral limits when she brings him the cash earnings from her husbands latest crime dealings. They have once chance to go it alone, take the money and run...
The movie has been directed by stunt man Nash Edgerton, brother of Joel who is in the soon to be released awesome Animal Kingdom as well playing the Kurt Russell role in THE THING prequel.
This movie played at last years London Australian Film festival but there's been no theatrical release (or maybe we blinked and missed it), but American movie fans can see the movie on a limited release on April 9th with a possibly full release in May. Canadian movie fans will see a theatrical release on April 16th.
