Here is an Sci-fi short called S.S HUMANITY created by Matthew Ladensack. What this 17 minute movie does is a vision of what would happen if Earth has given up on humanity and our only hope is to venture out into space.

We follow one family who are part of only group of remaining humans on earth and a opportunity to travel on the last spaceship inton the unknown, they must decide if they should stay or go. This short (as well as Hangar No.5) is one of the many great short movies been shown as part of the Seattle science fiction & Fantasy short film festival which is been played at this current moment.


Synopsis:n the year 2210 humankind is faced with one option for survival: moving to outer space. The most precious of Earth's natural resources have been depleted; the planet has been ripped apart by war and natural disasters. Survival of the fittest has transformed into survival of the luckiest when a family gets last minute tickets to board the Space Station: Humanity. S.S. Humanity is a short sci-fi drama that gives audiences a glimpse into what the future may hold for human life. The film follows one family as they prepare to leave for the Alaska Project, one of the last human civilizations left in their dying world. When an unexpected opportunity to leave on the last shuttle to space becomes a reality the family must chose to stay on Earth or insure their survival by moving out into space.- Imdb
