Studio Ghibli's The Wind Rises U.S Trailer Flies Online, Is it Miyazaki's Swan Song?
When a new trailer for the latest Studio Ghibli film lands online it's always a ray of excitement brings a smile to anyone's face but it seems this one has extra reason to enjoy. The Wind Rises is been tipped as the farewell movie for Hayao Miyazaki who will retire but the question is will it be? Enjoy the American trailer...
The Wind Rises is inspired by Miyazaki's own personal dreams, the film centres around Jiro a young man inspired to become a aeronautical engineer. The Wind Rises is the epic tale of love, perseverance, and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world. The film is set in the first half of the 20th Century and will chronicle major events of his life from falling in love right upto Japan entering World War 2 a pivotal event in Jiro's career.
Despite been the U.S trailer there is no dialogue possibly that the American voice cast has not been chosen or the dub is finish.Visually you don't voice cast to release the trailer, visuals are nothing less but beautiful shame we don't get a sample tease of the sound design as early reviews praise it to the rafters. Will it get Studio Ghibli it's second Oscar? The talk is The Wind Rises will be in the nominations but id this film is the last Hayao Miyazaki film what better way to go out with a little gold statue!
No word on the UK release date we expect Studiocanal UK to do the honours releasing the film probably sometime in summer 2014, for USA release is 21st February 2014.
Synopsis
In “The Wind Rises,” Jiro—inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni—dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes. Nearsighted from a young age and thus unable to become a pilot, Jiro joins the aircraft division of a major Japanese engineering company in 1927. His genius is soon recognized, and he grows to become one of the world’s most accomplished airplane designers. The film chronicles much of his life, and depicts key historical events that deeply affected the course of Jiro’s life, including the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the Great Depression, the tuberculosis epidemic and Japan’s plunge into war. He meets and falls in love with Nahoko, and grows and cherishes his friendship with his colleague Honjo. A tremendous innovator, Jiro leads the aviation world into the future. Miyazaki pays tribute to engineer Jiro Horikoshi and author Tatsuo Hori in his creation of the fictional character Jiro—the center of the epic tale of love, perseverance, and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world.source:TheHollywoodNews

Is Frodo Stalking Girls Again? Watch the Trailer For Nacho Vigalondo's Open Windows
Elijah Wood's not had the best times with the female population ever since he destroyed the one ring to rule them all. If you go by his last film he loved scalps of pretty females in Maniac but in Nacho Vigalondo's Open Windows is he the enemy or simply a superfan dragged into something sinister? Watch trailer and find out!
Open Windows stars Wood as superfan Nick obsessed with actress Jill (Sasha Grey) the most exciting actress of the moment and the webmaster of a website dedicated to her. After winning a chance to meet his idol in person Nick is contacted by Chord (Neil Maskell)who says he's captured Jill and Nick can watch her every move on his webcam. Nick now finds himself intertwined in a situation if he doesn't comply Jill will die.
The gimmick of Open Windows is a tricky one especially as a lot of the film is played out on computer screens as well as real time which makes the film a little generic. This is Vigalondo's first English language and he is a talented director so we have faith he can pull this one off in a entertainment way. What will drive the curiousity is the fact after the directors two previous films Time Crimes (time travelling) and Extraterrestrial (rom-sci-fi, Open Windows feet are firmly grounded in reality.
No date has been confirmed for release UK or USA, expect possibly 2014.

Frightfest 2012:The Inside which has its World Premiere at FRIGHTFEST
You’ve seen him as Sir Gwaine in the BBC’s TV series Merlin, now Eoin Macken steps behind the camera to direct The Inside, featuring Czech starlet Tereza Srbova (Sirens, Eastern Promises) alongside the cream of Irish acting talent that includes Emmett J. Scanlan (fan favourite Brendan Brady in Hollyoaks, Charlie Casanova), Sean Stewart (Occi, Coward), Natalia Kostrzewa (The Clinic) & Brian Fortune (Game of Thrones). The WORLD PREMIERE takes place at the 13th Frightfest, Empire Cinema, Leicester Square on the Discovery Screen, Sunday 26th August 12.45PM (Also screening on Monday 27th 6.30PM).
While in a pawnshop a young man comes into possession of a second hand video camera; discovering a tape still inside he plays back the footage and witnesses a horrific series of events involving a group of teens in an undisclosed location. Using the footage as a guide he retraces the steps to where the events seemingly occurred. Deciding to investigate he discovers to his horror not only the truth of the events on the tape but comes face to face with a supernatural terror from which he may not escape....
The Inside
is a hard, violent, visceral psychological horror, which gets into your
belly, and leaves an unnerving disturbed feeling after watching it.
Shot mostly in alarming 1st person perspective this evocatively
realistic story of five girls breaking into an abandoned warehouse for
excitement - then finding themselves subject to a terrifying human
attack before succumbing to a supernatural terror - will leave you
shaking with fear! The film shows the worst side of humanity and
contrasts it with the horror of the supernatural, which has no
compunction between good and evil. But what is worse - the fear of the
unknown, or the known fear of man? Shot and directed by Eoin C Macken,
with additional cinematography by David Laird, and also featuring Eoin
Macken, with sound by Greg French of Irish band The Brilliant Things and a chilling score from Kevin Whyms of Whymsonics, The Inside will re-invigorate the Irish horror genre.
