Watch Dan Sachar's Full Overture Post Apocalyptic Short
April 2011 we brought you the trailer for Dan Sachar's short Overture an Israeli post apocalyptic film which has been playing festivals and now just before the film arrives in Sundance festival this month, the full short is available online in its full glory.
32 minutes long Overture is set in a post Apocalyptic dying world were a man a lone survivor lost in the dying world struggles to connect the pieces from his scavenging as well as the repressed memories. Out of the blue a young woman appears in his desolate forest who is intent that the man will face his past along with the fate fit to suit what he did in the past.
Been a fan of the post apocalyptic films Overture does look like something John Hillcoat (The Road) even Lar Von Trier would direct. This is captivating and with the minimal dialogue it really expands the loneliness, terrifying the world can be

Invasion, Infection and Zombies! Trailer to Mulbury Project
With so many video games come films out there you always wonder why no one from within the gaming industry has thought of using their creative talents and make a film themselves. Martin Brennan & Michael B Jackson have written many stories for games as well as comic books now entering in film with Mulbury Project.
Set 2025 in a disease ridden land where a young orphan boy who goes to the aide of a young girl who is been chased by a ruthless corporation. Info on this project is very scarce so we don't even know if this trailer is a proper trailer with actual footage or a concept trailer, whatever it is we do like what we're seeing. If you want see some of the film's conceptual art head over to the film's facebook page.

Zombie 108 DVD Review
★☆☆☆☆
A cursory glance at some of the Internet’s goriest movie websites tells you that approximately half a billion zombie-themed movies were released in the past 8 months, with another half billion on the way.
That is, admittedly, a slight exaggeration, but there’s no denying that zombie movies continue to be churned out with a worrying regularity that makes their abundance on video-store shelves seem like a desperate parody of their own content. They are quite literally everywhere.
Zombie 108’s tactic to make itself heard amongst the shuffling rabble of its flesh-hungry fraternity, is to sell itself as Taiwan’s first ever zombie movie.
It’s to be hoped that it’s also the last. Zombie 108’s treatment of the shambling, groaning, venerable old monster is so wanton, so profoundly pig-headed, it surely marks the point at which we collectively shelve the genre for the time-being, and turn our attentions to mummies or radioactive insects instead.
The initial copy made available for viewing was removed from its berth on Vimeo due to apparent complications with the English subtitles. It was therefore with no small sense of irony that I settled in to watch a replacement copy, only to find that the film employs only a minimum of intelligible dialogue anyway. It’s an honest question to wonder whether this laughably incoherent collection of violent set-pieces would be in anyway degraded by a complete and utter removal of all sound from the film. A non-descript, laboratory-based disaster is unleashed upon Taipei, turning its denizens into a hungry, gooey army of the undead. This complicates matters for the upright members of the Taiwanese SWAT team engaged in a turf war with a local mob boss. The zombies shuffle in, and the two sides must work together in order to avoid being served-up as an entrée.
It’s a joyless, meaningless parade of tits, bums, chicks with guns, a little bit of parkour, and a lot of sub-standard gore.
But it’s the addition of a sleazy torture-sub-plot, making its presence felt too often for comfort, which prevents Zombie 108 from being merely noisy, juvenile nonsense. It’s in these moments that the film falls into downright lecherous misogyny and startling, incomprehensible animal cruelty. A rape scene intercut with moments of comedy stands as particularly ill-judged, coming dangerously close to Last House on the Left territory.
Zombie 108’s existence was made possible thanks to the generosity of some 900 or so individuals who heeded director Joe Chien’s plea for charity and donated money to fund the film. If you count yourself among the 900, might I suggest you politely ask for a refund? It takes guts to pull the trigger on a friend or family-member who has slowly but surely begun the painful transformation into a walking cadaver; but it must be done. Likewise, Zombie 108 is a film which desperately needs euthanising.

"Fight Or Die" First Official Trailer For The Day
After 2 years travelling the festival circuit its 'fight or die' with the first official trailer for The Day. Douglas Aarniokoski’s post-apocalyptic finally found a home (well at least in USA) and a official release date thanks to WWE Studios (yes that Vince McMahon Wrestling company) and Anchor Bay Films but we can't complain this film deserves a release and in a time of economic strains you can't complain.
The film does have a few familiar faces with Ashley Bell (Last Exorcism) leading the light along with Dominic Monaghan (Lord Of The Rings, Lost), indie horror favourite Shawn Ashmore (Frozen, X-Men), Shannyn Sossamon(one missed call) and Corey Hadict (Gran Torino). The story is simple 5 survivors trying to survive post apocalyptic earth armed with guns& knives they roam the land tired, hungry sleeping in old barns. The group decide to investigate an old house for food or anything of use unaware they have just triggered an alarm to signal for the home owners return and now the 5 must prepare for a battle for survival.
You ave to go away back to December 2010 when we brought the film's promo teaser trailer which teased us but not revealing much, the new trailer does however give you a little more of a idea of the story. As I said the story is simple as it doesn't delve into why the world is like what is in the film, nor does it delve into background of the characters stories, it's all about survival. If you were fortunate to be in Glasgow late February you would have enjoyed the film's only UK screening at Film4 Frightfest @ Glasgow Film festival. Over the weekend it was one of the top 3 favourite films of the frighfesters along with China Brothers Crawl and The Raid, the film is gritty plenty of tension, gore and a superb ending PA fans will appreciate.
Once we get word of the UK release I will write my review but American PA fans forget about the WWE Studio side of things The Day is a superb indie film you should check out when it's released August 29th.

Zombie Myth Goes New Wave In Promo For MODERNGRUMBLE
As regular Cinehouse/The Peoples Movies we do love the odd film or two in the zombie genre and it's always nice to see someone try something a little different. Toby Venable is trying something a little different and it was only a matter of time we got a arthouse zombie film and that film is MODERNGRUMBLE and we now have an extended promo trailer. This is actually been sold as a coming of age film of a young monster on a road trip through an alternative deep south and he could possibly be the messiah. It seems this is a visual poem inspired by Tarkovsky and Bresson, visually looks fantastic very gloomy but when does a post apocalyptic world actually be cheerful.!
This is actually 8 minutes long and plays out like a short film than a actual promo trailer, check it out below I'm sure you'll be perfectly surprised.
