The Man From Nowhere Teaser Trailer - A New Action hero is born?
source TwitchFilm
The Man From Nowhere is a new and upcoming action thriller from South Korea whichshould be out in its native Korea late summer if not before end of 2010. For many years the South Korea cinema as in big budget action movies has been dominated by a few actors like Kwon Sang Woo or Song Kang-Ho so the industry has been crying out for some new blood and with The Man From Nowhere it looks like they have found there man in Won Bin whom in the west may know from the fantastic Madeo (Mother) which is finally getting a release cinematically in UK.
Won Bin has been around for a little while on the acting front but as they say all good actors/actress have to start somewhere and build that reputation up and the big parts will come to you and it looks like this will be Bin's window of opportunity!

Alex Nakone's Horror Short MR.MORAG'S HELICAL DREAM'S
source QuietEarth
Cloning has been a very sensitive subject some people see the advantages of cloning when all other options have been used whilst others are against it simply down to its ethical morals. If you think about it some surgery we already use artifical body parts/limbs (heart, knee, hips, etc...) but over the years the cloning of a living human or animal has raised the biggest issues. It's been done in the movies like in the island where the clones end up having the sense of whats going on, so maybe thats one of the issues would clones be better than the real thing? We could go on forever.
Mr Morag's Helical is a short movie by Alexander Nakone which looks at the thought of a human receiving cloned human body parts. The acting aint fantastic it's the messege of the film, if you where on death's door and the only way to cure you was using cloned human body parts what would you do?

The International Trailer For Spanish Thriller HIERRO
source Trailer Addict
Hierro first caught my attention when I was working on my other blog the Peoples Movies doing a article on last years Film4 Frightfest in which the movie was part of the line up.
There was very little information apart from a short synopsis there was positive chatter about the movie as it came from the producers behind Pan's Labyrinth & The Orphange, the movie simply dissappeared of the face of the earth.
Now nearly a year on after its release in its native Spain Hierro is getting a limited UK release on 18 June and after the break you can check out the international trailer for the movie.
You cant argue but some of the best intense horror/thrillers movies in the past few years has come from Spain everything from Pan's Labyrinth, Orphange right up to [REC] franchise which has brought a fresh look at the zombie genre. You'll get the intensity but also the dark edginess, the thrills and spill you expect from a horror flick and even though Hierro has been rated the dreaded 12A do expect shocker.

Shark Attack in Aussie Thriller THE REEF
source BeyondHollywood
I know this is just a movie but your in Austrailia, you for a boat excursion and go into the sea, the breeding ground from the most reknown killer of the seas lives...The Great White Shark!!! So you should have stayed on the boat!!
THE REEF is the debut movie for director Andrew Traucki and the movie does have similarities to Open Water by Chris Kentis but this movie is more about surviving the attacks whilst Open Water was more the dysfunctional relationships.

The Way Of The Fjord! Norwegian Ninja Theatrical Trailer is Upon Us!!!
source Screened
I'll admit I never really took this movie seriously, the cheesiness level was massive but I said to myself I'm forgeting one of the reasons I started this blog: to cover the weird, funny and wonderfull movies out there and Norwegian Ninja is one of them.
This movie comes from the producer of the excellent zombie nazi movie Dead Snow so this should have been my que to check the movie but here I am! These guys have a sense of humour that gives you the impression they dont care there just having fun and good on them, there's just too many serious people out there.
If you love your old school martial arts (ala 1970-80's) flicks mixed in with a barrell load of cold war frolics, 'amazing' special effects and enough cheese to use to make cheese & toast for the entire universe check out this movie.
I dont know if this will get a theatrical release in UK but the worldwide coverage this movie has got hopefully it will get some sort of limited releaseif not it'll be straight to dvd.
The movie is due out in its Native Norway on August 13th, check out the trailer after the break....

We Still Love our Zombie Flicks! Check this out, DARKEST DAY trailer
source Quietearth
As Zombie movie legend George Romero has just released another zombie flick, many critics/fans are saying maybe he should stop creating zombie flicks as the qaulity seems to diminish movie by movie. Maybe some say the genre is tired and boring, though I never hear anyone complain about the vampire genre which does seem to be busting with constant movie and tv shows but no one seems to complain. With a little imagination using some of the basic musts for a genre like zombies you can come up with some fantastic and even original and DARKEST DAY is definately a perfect example of a good zombie flick.
You have your elements of old school zombies along with the new school fast running undead, elements of 28 days later and most of all its British!!! Yeah here in UK we dont really have a gun culture its more knifes so less redneck more chav, but you can expect the redneck type splatting you got in dawn of the dead.
Cinehouse UK gives these guys the thumbs up and supports the small independant movie producers, but these are passionate people who have created a dark thrilling movie in no budget. According to their website they are in post production and are looking for distributors, I do hope they get a distributor great effort guys!!!

A First Look At District 9's Sharlto Copley's directorial debut SPOON
source Twitch
Sharlto Copley broke into hollywood movies in 2009 as the lead character of District 9 soon we will also see him playing murgdock in the 2010 movie version of the classic 1980's tv show A-Team, but Copelys ambitions where not always to be in front of the camera.
Copley actually started life in film as a producer but just like alot of peoples dreams they take a different direction sometimes in the wrong way but alot of times in the right direction and you could say Copely has went in the right way. Yes he may have made more of a name for himself for the few movies he has appeared in but with that stardom it can help you go back and make things possible you wanted to do previously and now we have SPOON.
The movie has been described as:
"thriller with supernatural overtones about a man with a medical condition that causes him to black out during moments of extreme stress and leads him to make a remarkable discovery about himself"
Spoon is played by British tv star Daniel Boyd (Green Wing, ReGenisis, Smack The Pony) with the legendary Rugter Hauer playing his dad Victor.
The movie has been in production for a while but finally its at the stage can start to enjoy or at least understand what the movie is all about. After the break you can watch the first teaser trailer, not much happens but enough to get you interested in following the trailers to make sense of the movie.
