New Teaser For Takashi Miike's Reworking of 13 ASSASSINS

Source Wildgrounds &TwitchFilm
There's only so many remake's one can get excited about in the era of virtually every new movie is a remake, prequel of an old one 13 ASSASSINS is one we're rather excited about.
The updated version has been directed by Takashi Miike  (audition, ichi the killer)and  has been described as the 'dirty dozen set in the samuri era', well thats enough to get me excited about it! When the movie is already a classic and with quite a few of the most inspirational movies of all time coming from the land of the rising sun, you'll have to tread on thin ice not to be disrespectful to the original but also pay homage but add your touch as well.

A group of assassins come together for a suicide mission to kill an evil lord.

The movie will be out in Japan September 25th and is sure to be a massive hit, so check out the new teaser trailer after the break plus the first full trailer which came out the week before as well...

I'm in agreement with the source of this trailer, South Korea especially the past few years have given the movie world some cracking movies and the trailer for this movie MOSS directed by Kang Woo-seok.
The movie is based on a popular internet comic, check out the trailer after the break...

International Trailer For THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE

source ThePeoplesMovies
Back at the start of March I posted the Trailer for The Girl Who Played With Fire (Flickan som lekte med elden) the follow up to The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo and now the movie has a UK realease date below is the international trailer for the same movie.
The movie has been pencilled in for a August 27th UK/Irish cinematical release with Noomi Rapace (Salander) and Mikael Nyqvist (Michael Bloomkvist) reprising there roles once more. I havent seen the first movie but I beleive there could be the minor things could spoil this one, but nothing big though.
The second movie sees Slanader & Blomkvist return back to the Millenium to expose a suspected sex trafficking ring and with 2 reasearchers murdered Salander is framed becoming the Polices cheif suspect. Not convinced Bloomkvist searches for the fleeing Salander to get the truth but on that quest Salander unveils a few of her own dark secrets.
Once again Im unsure reading the 3 books of this trilogy before checking out the movies so I can have a opened mind when I do see the movies.,I’ve did it with The Road and I have more admiration for the movie now. What I’ve read about this movie it is a very solid strong film possibly not as good as movie one but good enought to check out. The first movie is going to get the hollywood remake treatment with Se7en henchmen David Fincher directing, so Im sure this movie will follow suit as with the last movie The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest which came out this year in its native Sweden.

I just recently got a few glimpses at CJ7 from my friend who likes to delve into the unusal movies from the world I have to say I liked it, was made funnier by the dodgy english voiced dubbing they use as well. What I watched of the movie I have to say im not surpised a cartoon version has been made probably some of the live action version humour will be appreciated better.
Below is the teaser trailer for the animated version which will be out next month in China on July 6th, expect more whackiness/slapstick and if you loved shaolin Soccer there's even a little homage thrown in as well!!!

About 20  years ago its summer morning I get up switch on television I watch this animation which  just stunned me, beautifully drawn, well crafted story which memorised me and it wasn't until about 10 years later did I realise that animation I was watching was Laputa:Castle In The Sky. That day I woke up to Japanese animation and the magic of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
Anytime Anything new from Studio Ghibili is always worth a look and even when someone asks me 'Disney or Ghibili?' always Ghibli! Earlier in the year I posted the first teaser for Karigurashi No Arrietty (The Borrowers) and now another teaser trailer has appeared online. The movie is based on Mary Norton's The Borrowers classic story and the story is based around a family of tiny people who live hidden in a normal humansize house  surviving of 'borrowed' or discarded items.
The movie has been scheduled for a July 17th release in Japan but as for rest of the world no word yet but if they follow what they did for previous releases it could anything from next few months upto 2012 at least for UK & Ireland.

Tell us what you think of the trailer, what it after the break....

Its Hard & Lonely been a Superhero... SUPER HERO PARTY CLOWN Trailer

The glamour of been a superhero seems to appeal to a lot people the glamour, the fame, the world is at your knees but when you become that hero it is a lonley world out there and all you have to do is ask Eugene.

Been at high school your hormones are kicking in, you need to find yourself a girlfriend but your a superhero that's a superhero at kids parties getting that pretty girl to be the one is damn impossible. It's just me not been American having superhero's instead of clowns a kids parties I find unusal but the comicbook fandom stateside (even worldwide) is massive so no surprise.

SUPERHERO PARTY CLOWN is a quirky little indie comedy that'll have fanboys & girls worldwide laughing as well as those out there who cringe at the levels of commitment some of people go to  so another digg at them.

This trailer is another sign of why you should support more independant filmmaking, enjoy the trailer after the break...

The Man From Nowhere Teaser Trailer - A New Action hero is born?

source TwitchFilm
The Man From Nowhere  is a new and upcoming action thriller from South Korea whichshould be out in its native Korea late summer if not before end of 2010. For many years the South Korea cinema as in big budget action movies has been dominated by a few actors like Kwon Sang Woo or Song Kang-Ho so the industry has been crying out for some new blood and with The Man From Nowhere it looks like they have found there man in Won Bin  whom in the west may know from the fantastic Madeo (Mother) which is finally getting a release cinematically in UK.
Won Bin has been around for a little while on the acting front but as they say all good actors/actress have to start somewhere and build that reputation up and the big parts will come to you and it looks like this will be Bin's window of opportunity!

Alex Nakone's Horror Short MR.MORAG'S HELICAL DREAM'S

No comments:

source QuietEarth
Cloning has been a very sensitive subject some people see the advantages of cloning when all other options have been used whilst others are against it simply down to its ethical morals. If you think about it some surgery we already use artifical body parts/limbs (heart, knee, hips, etc...) but over the years the cloning of a living human or animal has raised the biggest issues. It's been done in the movies like in the island where the clones end up having the sense of whats going on, so maybe thats one of the issues would clones be better than the real thing? We could go on forever.
Mr Morag's Helical is a short movie by Alexander Nakone which looks at the thought of a human receiving cloned human body parts. The acting aint fantastic it's the messege of the film, if you where on death's door and the only way to cure you was using cloned human body parts what would you do?
Check The movie out after the break...

The International Trailer For Spanish Thriller HIERRO

No comments:
source Trailer Addict
Hierro  first caught my attention when I was working on my other blog the Peoples Movies doing a article on last years Film4 Frightfest in which the movie was part of the line up.
There was very little information apart from a short synopsis there was positive chatter about the movie as it came from the producers behind Pan's Labyrinth & The Orphange, the movie simply dissappeared of the face of the earth.
Now nearly a year on after its release in its native Spain Hierro is getting a limited UK release on 18 June and after the break you can check out the international trailer for the movie.
You cant argue but some of the best intense horror/thrillers  movies in the past few years has come from Spain everything from Pan's Labyrinth, Orphange right up to [REC] franchise  which has brought a fresh look at the zombie genre. You'll get the intensity but also the dark edginess, the thrills and spill you expect from a horror flick and even though Hierro has been rated the dreaded 12A do expect shocker.

Shark Attack in Aussie Thriller THE REEF

source BeyondHollywood
I know this is just a movie but your in Austrailia, you for a boat excursion and go into the sea, the breeding ground from the most reknown killer of the seas lives...The Great White Shark!!! So you should have stayed on the boat!!

THE REEF is the debut movie for director Andrew Traucki  and the movie does have similarities to Open Water by Chris Kentis but this movie is more about surviving the attacks whilst Open Water was more the dysfunctional relationships.
