We do like our oddball movies at Cinehouse HQ and Yakuza's Girl (Doch yakudzy) is certainly one of them. This movie is an combine Ukrainian/Japanese made movie which pairs the director of Mongol Sergey Bodrov with the Mutant Girls Squad director/actor Tak Sakaguchi.
The movie can only be described as a gangster/yakuza comedy where the daughter of a yakuza goes missing and for some weird reason she ends up in Ukraine (possibly Russia)!!!
I dont really know much more than that, so check out the trailer after the break...

Trailer For The Collective Consciousness With...... 0000

Unusal but different is how I would describe this indie sci-fi project. 0000 is the movie of director Eddie Alcazar and it's a project himself and his team has been working on for the last few years, get a concept work on it until things gel and become right.
Below( after the break) is some test footage and it does look very impressive, bleak, dystopian most of all very unique and its helped it shot on a 16mm camera. The principal photography will start shortly in October, I just feel frustrated that alot of these movies which look so good Ill never see here in UK for reviewing or viewing purposes (unless some good soul would post screening copies)

The mind of one man will galvanize a global revolution. His technology will birth a new era of human existence and social connection, but this great gift is rooted in dark tragedy. If he is to survive, he will need the help of many, and if we are to survive, our awareness must grow.link - Facebook moviepage

First Look At The Pang Brother's CHILD'S EYE (3D)
source Filmsmash
The Pang Brothers are at it again with there third movie of their Eye Franchise with THE CHILD'S EYE (3D).
The brother's had a hit with the first movie and it was that sucessfull we even had a Hollywood remake with Jessica Alba in the lead role but for movie 2 they couldn't keep the momentum going. You could say they are asian horror's version of M.Night Shyalamalan great first movie and very hit or miss with the projects the coame after it it (solo as well as together).
14th October the third installment will be out and could this be the movie to push them back up the ladder or will it be their The Last Airbender? Apart from having a poor sequel the movie has something it against it already....Its in 3D!!!
The Child’s Eye 3D stars Elanne Kwong, Rainie Yang, Shawn Yue, and Ka Tung Lam.
Stranded in Thailand by the political uprising and airport closure, Rainie and her friends were unable to return home. Unwillingly, they stayed in an aged and shabby hotel.
Among them was Rainie’s almost-breakup boyfriend, Lok; Ling and her brother Rex, and Ciwi and her beloved boyfriend, Hei.
From the moment they checked in the hotel… they came across three weird children and a puppy, and strange things happened once after another………

First Trailer For Song Hae-sung's Korean remake of A Better Tomorrow - INVINCBLE
source FILMSMASH
Song Hae-sung''s Korean remake of the classic John Woo Hong-Kong thriller noir A BETTER TOMORROW, now called INVINCBLE has its first trailer.
The talk of the movie has stirred up a few corners as the original movie (as well as movie 2) have some iconic scenes which some up the whole reason why Hong Kong thriller/action flicks have such a massive following worldwide. According to the director only the characters as well as the basic set up of the story remaining with the rest having a modern retake on the original, I think their treading on eggshells as the 1980's feel and look of the movie madeit so good.
As it's Korean the badguys in this version will be North Korean special forces entering the world of organised crime, mmm what do you think guys?
Anyway check out the trailer after the break...

Trailer For Yiannis Economidis’s Mahairovgaltis.
sourceQuietEarth
Been quite a year for Greek cinema oversea's with Dogtooth, Blackfield and Attenberg all making their mark overseas through the festival circuit as well as cinematic releases and now we can add another movie Yiannis Economidis’s Mahairovgaltis.
This is actually more cypriot than Greek but there doing something well in the Greek speaking parts of the world and when you watch this trailer at first it comes across as a very obscure trailer like everyone is having staring matches, even the dogs! There's always the annoying music gives th impression of a Arthouse movie, a little bit like a Jim Jamusch movie then about halway through the action kick's in.
It’s the story of Nick, a man who lives in the country; a man who lives for the here and now. When his father dies, he’s urged to leave small town life behind and head to Athens where his uncle offers him food, board and an easy job but Nick's life takes a sharp turn once he arrives in the metropolis.
The movie was released last week in Greece but I wont be surpised 2011 the movie will be doing the international festival circuit around the world.
