Exsistence is Futile enter the maze of Life In Trailer for EXIT

No comments:

Source TWITCH
When you check out your usual sources for trailers for new movies and when that source hasn't got a clue what the hell are they watching it can make it a little more intriguing to check out. EXIT is an Austrailan movie which seems to study life and the many doors we open , the many doors we close and the towns and cities we live in are a massive maze, we dont know whats next or behind that door the meaning of existence.
The movie has a big arthouse feel to it, then it breaks into experimentalist obscurity really hard to pigeonhole the story. The movie has a big inspiration from David Lynch, Darren Aronofksy so whats behind your door?

When The Hunter Becomes the Hunted...New Trailer For THE TUNNEL

2 comments:
source Twitch
When does the  Hunter becomes the hunted ? Simple in THE TUNNEL, a new viral horror movie from Sydney Australia. This is actually going to be a free online bit torrent movie and what we've seen so far for the movie is very good, the filmmakers also appealed for people to buy frames from the movie and the names of those sofar who have bought frames make up the cool poster on the left side of this post.

Set and filmed in the real maze of tunnels underneath Sydney, and using the truth as a starting point, The Tunnel tells the story of investigative journalist Natasha Warner, who leads a news crew underground to investigate why the government suddenly scrapped a plan to utilise the water in the disused underground train tunnels beneath Sydney's St James Train Station. They went down into the tunnels looking for a story - until the story found them.

There is apparently a easter egg in this movie giving you a big clue of what this movie maybe about and as for inspiration for the movie everything from Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, The Descent all come to mind. For whats to be a free movie via sharing sites (early 2011) Im very impressed with the movies marketig professionalism as well there passion and the fact they want to share the movie free using internet technology to the max.

If you find the easter egg clue in the trailer please drop me an email and explain it, Ive tried and failed miserably, trailer after the break...

A NewTrailer For Stuart Beattie's Tomorrow: When the War Began

No comments:

source FirstShowing

Stuart Beattie might not be a recognisable name to some but he's the man who wrote the scripts for the Pirates of The Carribbean movies (arrgh him you say!) and Tomorrow: When the War Began is the Australian's directoral debut.
The movie is based on books of the same name by john Marsden with a few familar faces to British viewers with Caitlin Stasey (Rachel from Neighbours), Lincon Lewis (Geoff- Home & Away) and Rachel Hurd-Wood (Soloman Kane, Dorian Gray, Peter Pan). As usual as this movie is taken from popular books i've not read these books so I would personally see the movie first then read the books so not to be over critical of every little detail, but everyone has a preference .
MGM are skint and recent news that there remake of the 1985 movie is been put on hold (probably forever as they cant get a buyer), this is probably going to be the closest you'll get to a movie very similar to Red Dawn and apart from the odd cheesy over the top action /patriotism this does look like it'll be a good fun adaptation.
No news of a British or even American release date but September the 2nd the movie will be out in Austrailia and New Zealand.

Dean Francis Short VERMIN

No comments:

source QuietEarth
I dont have much information on this little short, but Vermin is an excellent 22 minute short from actor/director Dean Francis . This dude did alot of work in Australia despite been born up north in Newcastle, but I have to say im utterly impressed, as an artist you create something to express yourself and this little short express Francis talent to create something off the wall which will disturb but will also get you enjoying the whole thing as well.
Vermin is shot in grey montone which gives the whole movie a very dystopian feel, all I can really say is watch and enjoy!!!

Australian Cinema has always had a decent reception in UK over the past decade or two. If you switch on UK television you'll find 1 in 3 soaps are Australian and more recently on Scottish television we've had Underbelly a violentish crime drama. But when it comes to America it's not as great though that could change with THE SQUARE.
The Square is an stylish crime drama about Raymond a man tangled up in a love affair with Carla, a beautiful but troubled woman. She tests Raymond's moral limits when she brings him the cash earnings from her husbands latest crime dealings. They have once chance to go it alone, take the money and run...
The movie has been directed by stunt man Nash Edgerton, brother of Joel who is in the soon to be released awesome Animal Kingdom as well playing the Kurt Russell role in THE THING prequel.
This movie played at last years London Australian Film festival but there's been no theatrical release (or maybe we blinked and missed it), but American movie fans can see the movie on a limited release on April 9th with a possibly full release in May. Canadian movie fans will see a theatrical release on April 16th.
