Full Trailer For ASHITA NO JOE (Tommorow Joe)

No comments:
source Nippon Cinema
The full trailer for live action verion of the popular manga/anime ASHITA NO JOE has appeared online thanks tothe movies website.
The movie is based on the boxing drama created by Tetsuya Chiba and Asao Takamori classic of the same name of of joe(played by Tomohisa Yamashita) a trouble youth who meets  Dampei Tange (Teruyuki Kagawa) who teaches him the art of boxing and he meets also Toru Rikiishi (Yusuke Iseya) and a fierce, but respectful rivalry. I dont know if the movie will follow the comicbook or the animation but in the comicbook the boxing battle inside also involve other inmates and those inmates are of different skill levels.
Been a manga/anime fan I have been fortunate to see some of he classic animes online but not enough to say I know the story well, but its what I would call a classic manga and hopefully director  Fumihiko Sori has been respectful to the story as possble s a homage to it rather than in it to make quick money.
Ashita No Joe (Tommorrow's Joe) will be released by Toho in Japan on February 11th, 2011, trailer after the break...

Kentaro Otani’s Runway Beat

No comments:
sourceNipponcinema
I really love Japan for many reason. The people are probably one of the most diverse societies in the world but also can be one of the most conservative. Kentaro Otani’s Runway Beat is based on a mobile phone story and only Japan could create a feature movie out of that story and taking an unusal subject and making it very accessible is what Japan is really good at and the movie is about Biito “Beat” Mizorogi(Koji Seto), a transfer student with a “genius” fashion sense gets together with some fellow classmates to create the schools fashion show which is part of the annual festival

He aint no Sinatra or Clooney, Trailer for unfunny OTTO'S ELEVEN

No comments:
Source Twitch
When it comes to foreign comedies (non-english) there's very little that I actually laugh at and im sure our counterparts may say the same about english speaking comedy. OTTO'S ELEVEN which is an unfunny parody of Ocean's Eleven movie which to put it the way my work collegue would say ala west of scotland style "reeks of pish", so whos otto?
Otto is Otto Waalkes the creator and main star of this movie and he is one of those comedians who isnt funny no matter how hard he tries he's just shit at comedy as well you wont to punch his annoying face. But the real confusing thing is sometimes that unfunny person seems to be a leading celeb/comedian in his/hers homeland!!!
Otto's Eleven will be out in Germany on December 2nd in Germany, Do any German movie fans find Otto funny? let us know!

Trailer For DIE Starring Elias Kosteas

No comments:
source QuietEarth
I have a big appreciation for Canadian Actor Elias Kosteas he is fantastic in Matt Reeves Let Me In, I beleive hes very under rated and in DIE he will get the lead role.
The movie is the directoral debut for acton Dominic James ,  Emily Hampshire, John Pyper-Ferguson and Caterina Murino. The movies story plays of a pyschotic mysterious man who rolls a die or dice but the victims all wake up in a prison cell and must perform 'the trials' or face the fate of the dice but is there a connection between the victims? As the story unfolds the truth starts to appear.
My first impression reading the synopsis, its another twist on the Saw but more like the cube , exam meets 13 Tzameti, The idea of the movie isnt really original but hopefully they'll be able to create a new fresh approach to the idea and hopefully give this movie some sort of theatrical release and maybe this is what fans of franchise like Saw may dig, but a movie with a bit more itteligence than saw.

check out the trailer after the break.....

Six people, each of them is on the road to self-destruction. They wake up in cells in a surreal facility, without knowing how they got there or why. Are they in denial? Are they crazy? What happened? As they try to figure things out, a mysterious man forces the six abductees to participate in a disturbing experiment called the Trials. During the experiment, the unwilling participants will come to face disturbing truths about themselves and decide each others' fate in a game of dice. As the storyline unfolds, we discover that something greater connects them all.

Peter Mullin’s Festival Winning NEDS gets a Trailer

No comments:
source ThePeoplesMovies
To anyone not Scottish you maybe wondering what the hell is a Ned?! To make things a little clearer a ned is the closest thing to a English Chav, both have smilar backgrounds, history’s etc.. Now thanks to E1 Entertainment via our good friends at HeyUguys (Happy 2nd Birthday!) Peter Mullin’s Film Festival winning movie NEDS (Non Educated Deliquents) the first trailer has been released and you can check out the trailer below.

.Scottish actor/ director (who is also the patron of my towns film society Paisley) is proud of his routes and when it comes to creating movies about his background he is one of the best, I may not agree with him politically but as in creating a part of Scottish life he is one of the best.Even though this movie is based in Scotland and Glasgow in 1970′s gang culture is the same anywhere in the world but sadly in some areas its worse than others. As for Scotland it still exists but sadly its more religous related than what area of a town you come from these days.

NEDS will be out in UK & Ireland on January 21st, 2011, trailer and synopsis after the break....

Teaser Trailer For UK Indie Horror GUINEA PIGS

No comments:

One thing I used to remember about University life in Salford Near Manchester was the amount of ways a student could earn a few extra bucks without actually going for a part time job. The amount of research companies usually medical that offered the students x amount of money for getting involved in a few hours to days research which could be anything from testing stuff right upto sperm donors. In the past few years we have seen the rise of these medical researching going wrong and the volunteers or ‘guinea pigs’ either having bad reactions or even worse death, the catch for these companies they make you sign a disclaimer.

so what if your one of 8 volunteers that sign up for a drug research and things go wrong? If they do check out this snazzy little teaser trailer for GUINEA PIGS a new indie British Horror which was sent to me today by our good friends at Vertigo Films. I really do like the look of this its like a mash up of Paranormal Activity, possibly even 28 Days Later too, seeing the movie possibly through cctv cameras and we dont see alot but hints this will be bit on the crazy side working on the psychological factor.

Guinea Pigs is directed by Ian Clark and stars Alex Reid, Chris Larkin, Steve Evets, Jack Doolan, Amit Shah ,Aneurin Barnard and if your a student desperete for money maybe watching this maybe make you think twice about going for the ‘easy money’ with medical research. No offical synopsis or release date but we do know the movies set for a 2011 release.

Teaser Trailer For HIGH KICK GIRL (Hai kikku gâru!)

No comments:
sourceNipponCinema
I got a little confused on exactly when this was made and speaking to a few friends who follow Japanese Movies/Culture passionitely they told this wasn't out yet and there right. HIGH KICK GIRL (Hai kikku gâru!) stars Rina Takeda  and as far as if this is a reboot or sequel, its hard to telll as there little info on the movie apart from “A girl’s revenge, born in Yokohama”, and the story revolves around a black belt which once belonged to a legendary karate master named Soujirou Kurenai and has since been passed down through generations of his family. 200 years later, a battle over the belt begins in Yokohama.
One thing we can see, she maybe a schoolgirl but you dont mess around with her or she'll kick your ass!!! Honestly theres not much I can say on this movie apart from its release in Japan will be February 25th 2011 and you can check out out a teaser trailer from the movies new distributor after the break....

Trailer For Stellan Skarsgaard in KINGS OF DEVIL ISLAND (Kongen av Bastøy)

There's a few actors out there in movieland who may have a few years ago appeared in one or two good movies then disappeared of the face of the earth and suddenly there appearing in every tom dick or harry, Stellan Skarsgaard is one of those actors however he does choose better 'qaulity parts'.
For those who just see Hollywood many only see Skarsgaard as bootsrap bill from Pirates of Carribean, One of the three dads in Mama Mia or the Vactian City chief security officer in Angels & Demons, but lookfurther affield we are talking about one of Scandanavia's biggest movie stars and below is the trailer for his next movie KINGS OF DEVIL ISLAND (Kongen av Bastøy).
The movie is set in a Oslo Young persons prison during the early 20th century, though he maybe the big name its the youngsters playing the prisoners who are the real stsars her with Benjamin Helstad one of the noteable names delivering what looks like a positive review with this movie only been his second feature. Kristoffer Joner another big name in Norway also appears.

Old School Style chiller from Vassilis Katsikis in LURK

No comments:
source Quietearth
You could say this is back to basic old school style chiller many others like myself call it a mindf**k, a pyschological thriller. LURK is directed by Greek filmmaker Vassilis Katsikis   who had a Greek box office hit in 2008 with the documentary CCTV. Now Lurk is his next venture and he has the dream of breaking into English speaking film industry and this has been filmed in his homeland but its all in English! Will this be a sucess in English speaking countries? Im affraid until he has well known faces be it the indie movie circuit this will be another miss.
As for the story of the movie its about a woman called anna (Tess Jackon-Spentzos ) whose home is invaded by a mysterious creature which turns her life upside down charming her first and eventually making her turn against her husband and eventually herself.
This trailer could make you go loopy lou trying to decipher what its all about!, trailer after the break....

Rutger Hauer will be known to many as the pyschotic killer cyborg in Blade Runner then remembered for been the man in black in the popular Guiness tv adverts during the 1980's and now he's doing arthouse in Fluer Boonman's PORTABLE LIFE.
The movie is wonderfully shot and since the era I called my 're-education' in movies I do love watching these arthouse type movies many are fantastically weird others terrible and curiousity drives you to watch.

Portable life is been aimed for a February 1st 2011 release in Netherlands, trailer after the break...

I've been really desperete to get this blog up and running as regular again but with new job Ive been unable to do so but hopefully soon I can and lets kick off Sunday with this beauty Die kommenden Tage (The Days To Come).
At first I thought this was going to be another generic drama but as the trailer progressed it started to get alot better and when a very well known face to movie audiences in uk & north America appears Daniel Bruhl (though hes not a the main star in this) you have to take notice.
The Days to come is an family drama set in what looks like the collapse of the world and as the REM song goes "Its the end of the world ...as we know it!". this movie is perfect example of dont judge a book by its cover.
Die Kommenden Tage will be out in Germany on November 4th, stars Bernadette Heerwagen, Johanna Wokalek, August Diehl.

Final New Trailer Jose Padilha's ELITE SQUAD 2

No comments:
source Twitch
A new final trailer for Jose Padilha's ELITE SQUAD 2 (Tropa de Elite 2 ) went online the weekend the movie was released cinematically in Brazil.
The movie has had its fair share of critics who've tried to prevent the movie been released but those critics arent film ones but the police whom this film is about and the corruption within the force. To really piss off the police thousands of bootleg copies where made and sold on the streets and thats what i call a vote of confidence from the people!
Whatever the police where goint to do in attempt to stop the movie it wasnt going to suceed as people power won at the end of the day and Padilha has the critics backing with Berlin film fest awarding the movie an accolade! The actual movie does look good with a mixed bag of action as well as drama, trailer after the break...
