Yo!Saigon! Trailer for Hip Hop drama ELECTRIC SAIGON
source TwitchFilm
Saigon Electric is the new indie drama from The Owl and the Sparrow director Stephane Gauger.
Gauger is a big fish in the arthouse-indie cinema network and he's teamed upwith Veitnamese Chanh Phuong Films to produce the county'r first ever hip-hop musical drama which is been lined up for a mid-December release, here's Gauger's description of the movie...
In my wish of telling universal stories with a global outlook and a distinctly Vietnamese point of view, the seeds of "Saigon Electric" were planted. Continuing the themes of my first narrative feature "Owl and the Sparrow", my hope is to create a visceral landscape of the hustle and bustle in modernized Vietnam. More than half of Vietnam's current population is under the age of eighteen, born after the American War. As the doors of the West have opened up to the nation and consumerism weaves its way into the value system, youth culture is seeping onto the streets of Vietnam. Hip-hop, graffiti artists, and punk rock are alive. My wish is to give these teenagers a voice and present to an international audience a fresh new look at the dreams and struggles of Asian youth.
A NewTrailer For Stuart Beattie's Tomorrow: When the War Began
source FirstShowing
Stuart Beattie might not be a recognisable name to some but he's the man who wrote the scripts for the Pirates of The Carribbean movies (arrgh him you say!) and Tomorrow: When the War Began is the Australian's directoral debut.
The movie is based on books of the same name by john Marsden with a few familar faces to British viewers with Caitlin Stasey (Rachel from Neighbours), Lincon Lewis (Geoff- Home & Away) and Rachel Hurd-Wood (Soloman Kane, Dorian Gray, Peter Pan). As usual as this movie is taken from popular books i've not read these books so I would personally see the movie first then read the books so not to be over critical of every little detail, but everyone has a preference .
MGM are skint and recent news that there remake of the 1985 movie is been put on hold (probably forever as they cant get a buyer), this is probably going to be the closest you'll get to a movie very similar to Red Dawn and apart from the odd cheesy over the top action /patriotism this does look like it'll be a good fun adaptation.
No news of a British or even American release date but September the 2nd the movie will be out in Austrailia and New Zealand.

Trailer For Chinese Period Comedy-drama The Dragon and Phoenix Inn
Source FilmSmash
There's not anything I can say on this trailer but its for Chinese/ Hong Kong period comedy THE DRAGON & PHOENIX INN, which has Richie Ren and Barbie Hsu both big names in the chinese cinema. It does look like it has plenty of kong-fu action scenes, plenty of laughs and it does last nearly 5 minutes which isnt unusal for a chinese movie.
anyway no graphics so the trailer is there instead.
Mexican sci-fi noir weirdness, trailer for LA PANTERA NEGRA
source QuietEarth
When you think of film noir, you automatically think 1940's cinema, black&white, pulp fiction some well dressed beautiful woman smoking throw in a bit a bit weirdness as well. Well LA PANTERA NEGRA has all that plus some flying saucers, science fiction pulp thrown in to make it one hell of a weird movie, but do you know what? we do love what we see here.
Shame is i'll probably not end up getting a chance to see it as 'i'm only a blogger nothing more' as a snobbish head up his backside reporter told me at Glasgow Film Festival.
enjoy trailer after the break...

Dean Francis Short VERMIN
source QuietEarth
I dont have much information on this little short, but Vermin is an excellent 22 minute short from actor/director Dean Francis . This dude did alot of work in Australia despite been born up north in Newcastle, but I have to say im utterly impressed, as an artist you create something to express yourself and this little short express Francis talent to create something off the wall which will disturb but will also get you enjoying the whole thing as well.
Vermin is shot in grey montone which gives the whole movie a very dystopian feel, all I can really say is watch and enjoy!!!

The UK Trailer For Adam Green's FROZEN
source Thepeoplesmovies
One of my highlights of 2010 was the press access I got to the Glasgow Film festival, a chance to watch a diverse range of movies and one of those was Adam Green’s FROZEN.
Green is better known for his modern day slasher movie Hatchet (Hatchet 2 will be the closing movie of London Frightfest in London this august) but Frozen is a perfect example creating a low budget movie using a simple idea and creating some intense as well at time pyschological. This maybe a horror-thriller movie but is an example any budding movie makers should take note of.
Green was meant to be there in person at the screening in Glasgow but he got snowed under and got stuck in a new york airport so his good friend Tim Sullivan director of 2001 Maniacs:Field of Screams (movie which was shown after frozen) did the honours.

The Offical THE CHESTER KIDS Teaser Trailer
source QuietEarth
Below is the trailer for Travis Ainley's debut movie THE CHESTER KIDS and theres not alot of information on this movie. What I do know of the movie its about Stu who is bored of life and what he was doing he returns home during the summer to try start a new life or at least try discover what path life is taking him. When he returns home he meets up with friends and family and the route of his life he discovers is not the route he or his loved ones really want him to take.
Wonderful cinematography and the look of the film will attract people to the movie.
Behold the carnage of the spoonmen! Spoof trailer for SPOON VS. SPOON!!!
source Twitchfilm
All here at Cinehouse HQ we do love our weird, crazy, poor movies that make us all laugh at the humour or just simply how bad everything is and when this was spotted we had to share it with you guys!
Hail the return (yes the return!) of The Spoon Killer as he faces his ultimate opponent, another Spoon! I dont know if this is spof sketch, or a short movie but its 5 minutes long so do enjoy after the break...
A GIANT animation short
sourceTwitchFilm
I was a bit unsure how to give this post a title without giving it a dodgy title which sounded like a punt, anyway below is a sweet , simple short animation called GIANT. The movies are only about minute or more long and are part of a series which takes us through the world of giants with a few untold truths & conflict.
Each episode will focus on a different giant and so nice to see something thats kind to the eye, series created by Yann Benedi enjoy...

Its a Second Life Drama, Trailer for R U THERE
Source QuietEarth
Before you say anything this is n't a trailer for a second life online game trailer, its actually a movie not about the website but movie did screen at Cannes this year and did get a decent positive response.
R U THERE tells the story of Jitze (20), a professional gamer who travels around the world to compete in video game tournaments. During a stay in Taipei he unexpectedly witnesses an accident which resembles those he re-enacts in his video games on a day to day basis; this confronts him with his own mortality and his world is suddenly shaken by reality, in a violent way. He meets an intriguing Taiwanese woman in the hotel bar where he is staying, never quite figuring out whether she is an escort, masseuse or bettle nut girl. He tries to get close to her but only manages to do so in the virtual world, on Second Life which they both visit. - imdb
