Filmbar70's Rare (and remastered!) screening of QUEENS OF EVIL

No comments:

Thursday 26th July, Roxy Bar & Screen
Filmbar70 present…
Queens of Evil (Cervi ’70)
£5 (£2.50 Roxy members)
(advance tickets here)

Filmbar70 proudly presents a masterpiece of early ‘70s Italian genre cinema, the stylish, sexy and enchanting ‘Queens of Evil’. Worshipped by cult cinema aficionados but rarely seen, ‘Queens of Evil’ previously has suffered from poorly presented releases. Filmbar has set the matter straight to present the very best print available – remastered by our own fair hands.

Starring Ray Lovelock, the sexiest leading Italian man of the ‘70s, and a trio of very lovely ladies indeed, furnished with some dazzling set-design, unafraid to tackle the issues of the time and unabashedly romantic, ‘Queens of Evil’ is the quintessential Filmbar experience. And, of course, Mr Eldiabolik and his World of Psychotronic Soundtracks will be on hand to spin the very best of Italian psychedelia…

David is a man in search of freedom. Roaming the countryside upon his trusty motorbike, in flight from the hypocrisies of this venal age, he has found peace in solitude, a peace to be torn asunder when a bizarre roadside encounter ends with lethal consequences. Taking refuge in the barn of a remote lakeside cottage, he is discovered by the owners the following dawn. But this is no rude awakening, for the denizens of this secluded haven just happen to be three unfeasibly glamorous women. Entranced, mystified and enchanted, David foregoes his quest to enjoy the raptures and rural idyll of these solitary women, falling first for their uncomplicated, care-free way of life, then falling headlong into their arms. But this garden of Eden may prove to be other than it pertains to be, for these women seek nocturnal communion with a shadowy figure and gather for strange, fire lit ceremonials, leading David to question the secret behind these bewitching temptresses. The answer will test David’s integrity, ideals and even his very existence…

Doors open 7:30pm
Programme begins 8pm

A New Subtitled Trailer For Sergio Luca Lureni's R.O.A.C.H

R.O.A.C.H. teaser trailer Eng from RoachTheMovie on Vimeo.
source QuietEarth
a few weeks ago QuietEarth posted theis trailer online I didnt take much notice of it I dont Know why just didn't but now they have posted an English version of the trailer online and I'm glad now I'm checking it out.
The short movie has been created by Sergio Luca Loreni an is a brilliant looking amotspheric sci-fi cyberpunk movie first impressions Blade Runner is a big inspiration. I just wonder why so many moviemakers over do it on the CGI making it so obivous there walking past a big blue screen, it ruins possible good movies though this one looks not too bad though.. I dont know when this maybe available online if does ill post it here.

The story takes place in 2068 and is set in a place very similar to Minsk, the capital of Belarus which sits nestled on the borderline between Russia and Europe, called New Minsk. In this future incarnation, corporations have near complete control of industry and communication. The story follows one man who rises up against one of the most powerful multinational corporations exposing the company’s genetic experimentation project code named R.O.A.C.H.

Its written and directed by Italian
Andres Muschietti and Andreas or Andy as he likes to be called will be directing with the king of all things dark and wonderful Guillermo Del Toro producing!!! This short little horror movie is dark, creepy but fantastically created with a simple but solid story and you'll see why Del Toro wanted to get this to the cinema screens.

La Bella Gente (The Beautiful People)

No comments:
Here is the first trailer for La Bella Gente or Beautiful People directed by Ivano De Matteo. The movie centers around a couple who pick up a young Ukrainian Prostitute on the side of the road and they take the girl home and try and try to re-habilitate her. Things go pearshaped whe the couples son arrives home and he becomes fatuiated with her. Things look like its going to be a big happy ending but looking deep into the movie its more a question of lifes morality and trying to do good and the price they pay in trying.
This is De Matteo's debut movie and like many good new movies its doing its rounds in the festivals network. The trailer howver doesnt give much of the story away, anyway enjoy....

La Doppia Ora Trailer

No comments:

Here is another fine trailer for a movie which will premiere at the BFI London Film festival, its for the slick Italian thriller LA DOPPIA ORA (The Double Hour).

Through a speed-dating evening, an ex-cop meets and embarks on a faltering romance with a beautiful woman who works as a maid in a motel. Almost as soon as their relationship commences, crime and violence intervene. There is a murder investigation and everything, which is not at all the way it seemed, is turned upside down.

(plot source SCREENRUSH)

The will be shown during next weeks BFI London Film Festival and will go on national release in Italy and I have lived a few years in Italy and this will do very well at the cinema and can help get the Italian cinema scene a nice boost and get them back up on the international scene.
