Watch Remi Gamietter's CABLE Animated short

No comments:
source Quietearth
What do you get when you cross a French Sculptor with Dave Cheungs Aeon Flux? CABLE  a short animated feature from  Remi Gamietter which took him over two years to create using no motion capture techniques which the whole feel of the movie a jaggey affair visually similar to Aeon Flux but a little more organic I say, there is a feel of early sega style gaming design too. Nothing spectacular here but its worthy of been watched  as is the artist first short movie.
Seething with rage, a woman dives into the deepest darkness of this world:

a tortured tower made of steel and cables amid which she throws herself headlong to recover her three abducted little girls.

Twitch have gotten there hands on the first teaser trailer for Douglas Aarniokoski’s Post Apoclapytic THE DAY. We dont know much aout the movie apart from its based around a group of young people whom survived a apocalyptic event and the cast the movie has ensembled is one of the things that caught my eye.
The movie stars Dominic Monaghan (The Lord Of The Rings, Lost), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism), Shawn Ashmore (Frozen, The Ruins, X-Men), Shannyn Sossamon (One Missed Call, How To Make It In America) and Cory Hardrict (Battle: Los Angeles, Gran Torino) and the movie is due to be released in 2011. As for UK & Ireland I dont know how much of a release cinematically it’ll get depending on the distributor (if any) it’ll get but I can see the movie getting a limited release then staright to dvd, but its early days.
What I really like about the this trailer is that it does what a good teaser trailer should do telling you alot about the movie with spoiling the sory apart from giving you the basics making you want to see more. What I do also like is the post rock soundtrack which comes from explosionsinthesky and I get that dark gritty PA feel like we got with GodSpeed My Black Emperor! 28 Days Later soundtrack, the right choice for the movie genre.

BBFC Release more information on why A SERBIAN FILM was classified

source Blogomatic3000
Friday 10th December Srdjan Spasojevic’s highly controversial A SERBIAN FILM gets a limited UK cinematic release. I cant comment on how bad/sickening the movie maybe but can only go with whats been said in the media but what gets me is that Westminsiter City Council (London) or for that fact British Governent probably knew already the media attention the movie was getting before it was due to be shown at Frightfest 2010, basically givien the movie more media attention encouraging curious movie fans to check the movie out 'illegally' online in its full. If a movie is controverisal for various reasons people should be able to judge how bad it is in its full instead of someone else been the moral highground. We can guess it is bad but like any movie it gets watched by the bbfc before been classified, but what I ask is when a movie is heavily cut are those parts been cut integeral  to the movie are they vital scenes?
On there Website BBFC have released more information on their classification for A SERBIAN FILM and be warned if your going to see the movie the information below does contain spoilers, check the classification and uk trailer for the movie after the break....

IFC Films have debuted online the trailer for the Steven Soderbergh documentary AND EVERYTHINGS GOING FINE a movie focused on the actor Spalding Gray who died in 2004. To be honest I dont really know much about the man apart from his part in The Killing Fields, obvivously Soderbergh who is a character driven filmmaker did see alot in Spaldings life and he beleved his story must be told and the movie is his outcome.
The Doc consists mostly of recorded footage & interviews of Gray compiled into to making the movie which had already played the likes of Edinburgh & Sxsw festivals to positive reviews. The movie is due a cinematic release in USA on 10th December as for UK no date has been confirmed.

Synopsis

AND EVERYTHING IS GOING FINE, an incisive and entertaining portrait of Spalding Gray by director Steven Soderbergh provides an intimate look at the master monologist as described by his most critical, irreverent and insightful biographer: Spalding Gray. Soderbergh distills 25 years of rare and revealing footage to construct a riveting final monologue. An official selection of the SXSW, True/False and Edinburgh film festivals, this inspired one-man show is a bittersweet display of the writer-performer's playful and embattled intelligence, and his gift for tracking universal truths by looking himself squarely in the eye.

Madrid is under attack! from Pablo Olmos Arrayales on Vimeo.

SourceQuietEarth
With he recent release of Skyline, Monsters plus next March's World Invasion:Battle Los Angeles on the cards it seems that Alien Invasion movies are the 'in-genre' at the moment. You could search the world including our own backyard and you'll find similar movies poping up everywhere and ALONE(Solos) is Spain's addition to the genre.
Directed by Mexican Pablo Olmos Arrayales who now lives in Spain and Alone will be his feature debut after a sucessfull award winning few years directing Short films. Well a little confession this trailer is actually for a movie not been made yet but it does look fantastic and looking at the source post they does say the filmmaker is working on the script for itand expect the movie in the next year or two. If this is to help prmote his idea to potential studios I dont think he has much to worry about!

Its Daddy Cool Teaser trailer For French Canadian movie FUNKYTOWN

No comments:
source Twitch
I dont mind dance themed movies that have some sort of story behind other than dance, films like step up which are pure dance movies and tough they performers are very talented they dont just interest me especially when your bombarded on tv with programmes like Britian's got talent your bombarded every minute of theday. So FUNKYTOWN is a movie set in 1976 Montreal when punk and disco where the music to listen to but disco was the more popular mainstream choice when studio 54 inspired clubs ruled the roost along with sexual freedom. The movie is based around the  Limelife Discotheque where if your into disco and you wanted to mingle with the celebs this was the place to go.
The movie is very dark, sexy and for adults as well those who love Saturday Night Fever as this seems to mold into a similar style movie and they do it well. The movie is in French and directed by  Daniel Roby and stars

Patrick Huard, Paul Doucet, Raymond Bouchard, Sarah Mutch, Justin Chatwin, Geneviève Brouillette and François Létourneau.

Funkytown is set for a 2011 release, check the first teaser trailer after the break,...
