My Name is Jerry...Jerry Cotton, Full Trailer for Germay spoof flick arrives

 source Twitchfilm
Its taken fourty years to return but Germany's spy spoof tv series is coming back to the big screen in 2010 with Jerry Cotton.
Jerry Cotton is your sterotypical CIA agent a little bit in the lines of the American series Get Smart which Steve Carrell brought to the big screen a few years ago. This is crazy stuff, slapstick comedy to the max, a little of Sledgehammer thrown in for good measure but at the same time this is a slick produced movie with a alot of hi-octaine coregraphed action scenes, this will be a big hit in Germany and will be out there on March 11th, 2010.
Christian Tramitz, Christian Ulmen, Mónica Cruz and Jaymes Butler all star in this German blockbuster with Cyrill Boss and Philipp Stennert  scripting &directing

the full trailer is below for your viewing pleasure:

TAG 26 ("Day 26") short

source QuietEarth

At Cinehouse HQ we love our movie shorts and here is a great little short from German director Andreas Samland called "Tag 26" or Day 26.
The movie is about 2 survivors of an biological disaster and how they subsist with contact with the outside world and they have to live in Biohazard suits/masks head to toe. The land is desolate&dead and the 2 men scavange the land for food, water as well as any form of transport. The 2 follow the sounds on the radio for possible survivors and they come up to a farmhouse and disaster strikes.
This is an very scary vision of an alternate future and most of us dont want to think about about and if fantasy becomes reality could anyone survive living their lives like this? Anyway enjoy this as you munch at your mince pies and selection boxes.

So been the novice that I am I said yeah ill check it out "what's it called?".........

Have  you ever bought a real tree for christmas? ever think about what damage it does to the environment? spare a thought for the trees and fauna that live in the forests? Well Treevenge is the trees fighting back in this gruesome little horror short. The movie is not for the squeemish or anyone who needs parental permission to do/watch things, you would probably get booted out the christmas office party if you talked about this or even admit you like it, but hey it's good and it's great to watch something alternative to bring out your christmas evil spirit. Ok guys remember false trees next year no real mccoy or you'll just another victim of the revenge of the trees!

Alma short Animated movie

source TwitchFilm
Here is a beautiful little animation short from Spanish director Rodrigo Blaas called Alma.

Alma is a little girl who skips through the snow covered streets of a  small town but a strange doll in an old antique toy shop catches her eye and she decides to enter the shop.

This little gem has done the festival scene all 2009 and has went down very well wherever it has played and Blaas has opted with the current festive season as his setting making this an ideal little animation which is ideal for this time of the year.

Teaser one for Luc Besson's ADELE BLANC-SEC

source TwitchFilm
Below is an trailer for the master of the b-movies Luc Besson lastest flick - Les aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec.
The movie is based on  on a popular comic book from Belgium/France(by Jacques Tardi) about a popular novelist Adele Blanc-Sec and her adventures in early 20th century with would be suitors, cops, murders,  monsters and a number of many other distractions. Reading what Ive seen on this you can say she is the original Jessica Fletcher (Murder She Wrote tv series). This teaser trailer is lacking a little more detail as it doesn't even give the smallest clue what this movie is all about which is dissappointing, especially for anyone who maybe interested in the movie but may not not be french speaking or heard of the comicbook.
This is an big budget movie for Belgium movie standards and this would be regarded as a blockbuster  and the movie is due to be released on 26 April 2010. As for UK & Ireland there is an chance we will see this on a limited release  as the movie is been distributed by Europa Corp who are UK's leading distributor or indie/foreign movie around Arthouse/indie cinemas.

Sci-Fi wierdness in Dystopian SERTOLI,SERTOLI, SERTOLI

Source QuietEarth
Everyone at Cinehouse HQ love there Dystopian inspired sci-fi/alternate realities but  SERTOLI,SERTOLI,SERTOLI is just wierdness at the highest level. When you watch the trailer below you will see that Terry Gilliam's Brazil along with the UK comedy League of Gentleman inspire this movie greatly.
This short was directed by new British director Owen Williamsand the short also stars Michael Dixon in Alexander (dont blink) and just done a runner on George Lucas RedTail project.
All I can say is if you like Brazil and League Of Gentleman you'll like this, read the synopsis and watch the trailer:

Synopsis:
In this strange tale, set in an Orwellian state, Guy Lance is the Y.S.R.M's only hope for truth. What is really at the end of the Great Conduit? Is the Second Branch a lie? Has everyone remembered their tie? - IMDB

The fighting Irish fight zombies in PORTRAIT OF A ZOMBIE

source Quietearth
When Shaun of the dead came out a few years back the zombie movie genre was virtually dead and buried (pardon the punt), even the great man Romero tried and failed. Then pops up recently Zombieland which brought the genre back to life, so it was a little of actually when than if  more movies would appear. Portait of a Zombie will hopefully have those irish eyes smiling in 2010 with this crazy black comedy.
Directed by Bing Bailey, this low budget flick is set in Dublin as a normal working class family get caught up in the middle of a invasion of the undead in there hometown and all I have to say is, this looks brilliant! Yeah it might look cheesy, corny and full of unknown actors, but sometimes thats the best way as the expectations of a movie wont be high.
You cant deny cheap and cheerful have been quite succesful recently, Paranormal Activity anyone?

synopsis:
Zombies roam the streets of Dublin. An American Documentary crew come to Ireland to make a documentary about the Murphy Family, whose eldest son Billy has turned, but the family still choose to care for him, much to the chagrin of the neighbors and the local crime boss. The Documentary crew soon become enthralled in the proceedings as Billy's story unfolds....IMDB

(Alting bliver godt igen) Everything will be fine trailer

source QuietEarth
If you remember certain decades usually its a nostalgic look but you always seem to remember things that made you cringe or say to yourself "Did I actually wear those?!" but when a modern film has a retro them or feel to it, it us usually regarded as very fresh and vibrant. Alting bliver godt igen  or Everything will be fine is one of those movies that falls under that modern fresh feel. Directed by Christoffer Boe
a Danish thrillerabout a movie director who flees a car accident he's to blame for and the victim of the accident is a man who has secrets and documents which could topple the government with! So trying to expose the victims story it turns out everything is not what it seems to be! mmmm!

First of All, Felicia.... Clip

 source QuietEarth
Everywhere in the world you will find families everywhere where brothers, sisters, parents, children who just simply dont talk to each other and either go there own way and anytime you try to patch things or someone attempts to bring the two together it always ends up in blows. First of All, Felicia (Felicia inainte de toate) is movie which will relate to anyone who maybe at boiling point with other family members.
The movie is about a 40 year old Romanian woman called Felicia who lives in Amsterdam with her son. One summer she decides to go home to Romania whilst her son was at summer camp and its on her return back to Amsterdam when things kick-off. Her sister was unable to take her back to airport and Felica is left with her mother and she misses her flight and arguements start to fly, old wounds opened, old family history dragged from the gutter and releationships, its simply all downhill.
Felicia inainte de toate is an relationship about a mother and her daughter which is very intimate as well as very emtional and frankly realistic as you'll in the  3 minutes clip below. To some the clip below might be difficult and uncomfortable to watch but sadly this is an true adaptation of life worldwide.

its "Pussy Galore" for Chile's 007 aka MANDRILL

source FirstShowing
Here's a trailer for Mandrill a cool looking James Bond-esque styleaction thriller from Chile. Directed by Ernesto Díaz Espinoza and stars Marko Zaror star's as Mandrill who's cooler than shaft, hotter than bond and faster than Lee!!! So this dude has everything a girl wants 3 for the price of one.
Marko Zaror is a big name in Chile movie industry and despite this been created on a next to nothing budget as well as hight to there necks in campness this was a sucess in its native country. Whats evene better about Marko Zaror he does all his own stunts and I have alot of credit for actors that do that, you will see in the second half of the trailer.
This movie will be out in USA early 2010 but as for UK&Ireland there maybe a limited release in Arthouse/indie cinemas, enjoy!

New 孔子 (Confucius) Trailer hits the net

When I kicked off this blog away back in late September I kicked off with an 3 minute teaser trailer for this movie Confucius starring Yun-Fat Chow (Hard Boiled, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, BulletProof Monk).

Its now nearly 3 months on and a offical trailer finally hits the net. Chow is following the footsteps of his fellow chinese/hong kong filmmates Jackie Chan and Jet Li as they gracefully get older there movie types they appear may get more dramatic and sometimes deep so now he plays the leading part of Conficus.

Conficus is an ancient respected philospher who is seen in many parts of Asia and China especially to have played an important part of how Chinese people think and act in society so its no surprise that in Chinese republic's 60th Anniversary year a movie on one of there nation's great thinkers wasnt going to be far away.

The movie is directed by new upcoming Chinese director  Mei Hu and is reported that the budget to make this movie was in the region of £19 million which is high in Chinese movie industry standards but thats what some of Hollywood's big guns are getting to star in movies. All the visuals I have to say looking stunning but the worry for some has the movie fallen into some of the fallings the Red Cliff dropped into? (I thought it was a great movie).

Confucius will be out in Hong Kong/China January 2010.

Never piss of santa before December 25th or you'll end up with more than a prezzie in your stocking...Trailer for Jalmari Helander’s RARE EXPORTS

source QuietEarth

We all love a little bit a festive cheer especially when times are hard for all of us, Santa has a busy schedule this time of the year and for the rest of the time its nice and respectful to leave the old jolly bugger alone to get some shut eye, but thanks to Finnish writer/Director Jalmari Helander he wont be getting any beauty sleep. RARE EXPORTS is Helander's new movie where the Finnish Northlanders dont have much to do majority of the year and decide to hunt down old saint nic. Devious, concealing but goddam original!!! Nothing better during the christmas period than a good old action  fantasy comedy with a difference instead of all squeaky clean coperate christmas spirit. Jalmari Helander is more known for his short films and This feature movie is actually from one he made in 2003.
The movie is still filming and we have at least a year before its offically out (December 2010), so below is the teaser to keep us all happy whilst we wait for the full trailer.

Dystopian Mexico in 2033 Offical trailer

source QuietEarth
When times are grim and things are hard for there's nothing better than watching the trailer of a future which is even more grimmer and Dystopian than now and here is Francisco Laresgoiti's dystopian scifi adventure 2033.
When I see new science fiction movies been created I just love watching those movies that have Friz Lang's  Metropolis vision mixed up with george Orwells 1984 and not forgeting Huxley's Brave New World, you certainly see segments of these great visionary authors visions in 2033.
This has been one of the movies that Ive followed on QuietEarth and was flabbergasted that they got the new trailer. I dont know if this movie may see some sort of limited release at the arthouse cinemas in UK/Ireland but would be wonderful if it does, but Mexico the movie will go on national release on 5th Febuary 2010.

Thankfully there is an overstream trailer with subtitles but dystopia in an universal language and can be understood by all.

British Independent Film Awards 2009 Winners Announced

Last Night Was the 12th Annual British Independent Film Awards held at the Brewery in London. We all know that the majority of the film award events are basically crap and predictable and has more rigged winners than the whole correlone family, enough to make the Godfather very jealous. Politics within the hollywoods elite is rife and even 12 months before the next awards they know whos is going to win.

If you where to pick out an honest, trusting awards ceremony you cant go wrong in the independent movie scene and the BIFA's are one those honest ceremonies. Yes I'm goin to be patriotic here and say why, the awards this ceremony give out are to the people & movies that deserve the credit and not to the movies that get the credit for filling up some fat cat's pockets full of money. There British and they support the independent movie scene and no matter where you live you should always support locally/nationally first and then internationally.
Below is a link which will take you to the report I created at THE PEOPLES MOVIES Blog on last nights awards. You will find who won what as well as a few video interviews from some of the winners.

Whats Up Lovely? Trailer

source QuietEarth
Below is the new trailer for indie drama WHAT'S UP LOVELY By Gary King.
Actress Jean Dees plays Luci a pretty girl who has just lost her job and simply cant sleep at nights and embarks on many journeys around the sprawling metroplis of New York at Night. Many of her encounters are very strange and wierd and in one unforgettable night she confronts her fears and desires as she struggles to make her way back home.
I can relate at points with the character Luci as I went through a 18 month spell with no work, very depressing and unable to do nothing for so long can open you up to a journey to discovery as you try to realign your desires and aims in life.
I dont Know much about Gary King but reading the post by Quiet Earth he is an director to keep an eye open for. This trailer shows this movie to be a simple story of life and its pressures, but What's Up Lovely does look a enticing movie to watch.

Watch: UK Zombie short PLAGUE

source QuietEarth  -----I wonder all those years ago when George C Romero gave birth to a horror movie genre of zombie flicks I wonder if he ever realised 40 plus years on how popular the genre still is? Year after year we get a movie inspired the great mans original work, some are good others are just plain crap, I have to admit I am a sucker for zombie flicks, Dawn of the dead is in my favourites list (both versions).
Below we have a wonderful little treat for all zombie and horror maniacs outthtere, thanks to Matt Simpson below is his zombie short PLAGUE . Last 17 minutes  and was selected  and shown at many film festivals worldwide including NYC's Horror Film Festival it was simply sleceted due to Matt's vision for the movie. Matt wanted the zombie flick to venture away from the usual zombie movies using someone outside of society and taking in a issue thats high on many country's agendas, immigration. The movies main character is an Latvian man Vilhelm who is an illegal immigrant as well as a gunrunner who heads to London for a new life, but when he arrive in the big smoke the dead have risen and consuming the living. But can he escape?

Whatever country you may come from you should always support homegrown talent as well as talent elsewhere and Matt Simpson is an talent that get's the full backing of everyone at Cinehouse/The Peoples Movie's Blogs!

Full Trailer for Dutch Kids Movie EEP!

source TwitchFilm
Last Month the teaser trailer for this movie was posted online but I had seconds thoughts about, maybe it was just the fact I was a little more depressed due to no work for so long, I dont really Know. Now today the first full trailer for Dutch Family fantasy movie EEP! is posted down below.
Next week (11th) in UK and Ireland Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are will be out in the cinema's which was a major success in USA, so just like many succesfull movies, books, etc... there is always a stream of copies, movies inspired by it or just very similar stories which follow and I would put EEP! in that category, though Spike Jonze's movie is really for adults who where kids in the 1980's. EEP is an tale about an odd half bird, half girl who is raised by human parents but wants to go off on a adventure of discovery with other birds.

I have to say that the teaser trailer just looked like it was something put together in 2 minutes on a episode of Blue Peter, but the trailer below is alot better and inspiring to watch as well sweet and charming. EEP! will be out in Netherands on 17th Febuary 2010.

La fisica dell'acqua (THE PHYSICS OF WATER ) Trailer

source QuietEarth
Below is the teaser trailer for Felice Farina's La fisica dell'acqua (THE PHYSICS OF WATER).

synopsis:
Alessandro, the young protagonist of this story, lost his father when he was very little. He lives with his mother, Giulia, a swimming teacher, in a nice house in the hills just outside of town. It's a bright day. He is awakened by a car's engine noise. Something is wrong: he sees his mother leaving with his uncle Claudio and starts running after them, terrified, screaming. He can't stop her. The car is in a terrible collision and Alessandro gets to the accident scene only to see the ambulance leaving with its siren full on. Alessandro is taken to the police station. He's in a state of shock. An inspector looks after him. Crying, Alessandro confesses to sabotaging the car brakes and causing the accident. The inspector is a special guy. He manages to calm him down and makes him tell his story, starting from the day uncle Claudio came back to their home. Claudio is his father's brother and had not seen him since he was two years old. That is when Alessandro's life began to fill with confused shadows from the past, with fears and troublesome "visions", and begins sharing his worries with his best friend Edo. The arrival of Claudio brought big changes to Alessandro's life. Not only did the man begin courting his mother, who never re-married after her husband's death, but the old house Alessandro is very attached to had been put on sale. During the interrogation Alessandro grows more and more uneasy: like a young detective he is forced to dig into his past, deep into the blocks of his memory, until the true tragic motives of his dislike for his uncle are unveiled - IMDB
I dont know actually much about this movie but according to Quietearth the little boy in the picture Alessandro seems to runn about alot but also sufffers from sleepless nights and when his uncle appears a man he knows nothing about he gets wearing and does not trust this man. Possibly this uncle Claudio may know about Alessandro's parents deaths and setting up for a intriguing thriller/police story.
